A nostalgic trip through Halo 2’s legacy of Multiplayer awesomeness.

With Halo 2’s Xbox LIVE matchmaking at an end, Waypoint wanted to take an opportunity to look at some of our favorite Multiplayer maps and experiences from the game.

First up on our list is the fan favorite—and potentially the most popular—Multiplayer map in the entirety of Halo’s Multiplayer suite: a pale and stark Forerunner research platform lodged in the frozen clefts of Delta Halo.

Lockout has always been held in high regard with Halo’s Multiplayer community, even now years later. Maybe it’s the sterile and open aesthetics, maybe it’s the map’s articulate and fluid combat flow, or maybe it’s the unique flow of horizontal and vertical combat. Whatever it was, it worked and it worked well.
