One month after the planet of Reach was razed to smoldering cinders, Earth came face to face with the Covenant. And though much has been written about the war which was waged in space, where humanity staved off a seemingly endless orbital assault, another story lies somewhere in the rubble that was once the East African Protectorate. It was there, in the carcass of New Mombasa, that a handful of Marines executed a mission to find out what it was exactly that the Covenant were looking for.
