The Containment Facility
Over a hundred millennia ago, the Forerunners built Halo to destroy the Flood. But being fully aware that the parasite's origin lay in mystery, they decided to keep samples for research, hoping that one day, they would discover a cure. These samples were kept on the seven Halo rings, locked away in heavily secured containment facilities.
