Hey Friends,

This week we have kicked off the latest flight for Season 8, of Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC)! With it, there is a very juicy lineup of new content. No need for initial setup on this week’s update, let’s just get to it Spartans!

MCC Season 8 Flight Content
Starting Thursday, September 2, and running until Monday, September 13, Season 8’s flight is ready for your participation. I think this is the most content rich flight we have put out there beyond when we were bringing the games to PC. If you have been waiting to check out a MCC flight – there is no better time than now!

So – what’s in the flight? Let’s drop the list:
  • Halo: Reach Firefight update to include Firefight voice previews, more granular body type and voice.
  • Halo 3: ODST Firefight update to include per wave customization options bringing it closer to Halo: Reach’s options.
  • Custom Game Browser (CGB) for Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 3 as well as Phase 2 implementations which include updates to filters, search options, and overall improvements to the Create, Browse, and Session Details page.
  • Halo: Combat Evolved is seeing the return of the classic HUD with 4k support and a toggle in Settings.
  • View model offsets for weapons across all games in MCC.
  • Season 8 customization content which globally includes nameplates.
  • Halo 3 content includes new armor, visors, back accessories, weapon and vehicles skins, and more.
  • Halo: Reach content includes new helmets.
  • All new Campaign collectibles in the Halo 3 campaign.
  • Campaign customization for Halo: CE and Halo 3 to allow vehicle and weapon skins when selecting options.
  • Player Reporting has been added to additional areas including scoreboards post-match.
  • Accessibility features including improved subtitles (subtitle size, color, shadow color, and background color) and all-new color blindness options.
  • Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary has seen performance improvements in campaign in remastered visuals.
  • A new map for Halo 3, called Icebox has been added which is a remake of the classic Halo 2 map, Turf.
  • Steam account linking is now available on your player profile to see your Steam friends in-game.
To read the full overview, please make sure to check out the flight overview over on the Halo Support Insider site HERE. Note – if you aren’t invited, you won’t have access to that link.

If you are a part of this flight and want to share your thoughts – we do have some options for leaving feedback relating to this flight at the following feedback threads:
Thank you to everyone who is participating, leaving feedback, and reporting issues at the Halo Support Insider site! This helps us immensely and we are ever grateful for it.

Not a Halo Insider yet?
Now is as good a time as any to register! Being a Halo Insider gives you a shot at participating in future MCC flights and Halo Infinite technical previews. Plus – it’s the only way to get your hands on these preview opportunities when we do share them.

It’s quick and easy to opt-in – just head HERE and enter your info.

Make sure to complete your email verification. If you don’t complete your email verification, you will not be considered for any future flight. Hey Friends,

Welcome back to another MCC Flighting and Development Update. We are still in the thick of our MCC Season 8 flighting!

Thank you to everyone that has joined us so far. This was one of our biggest flights yet for MCC and we hope you are enjoying our early look at new content and features. As always, remember that not everything you see in a flight is for the next season. And don’t forget to send us your feedback through the flight survey! For those of you that were invited and have not tried it yet, this is the last weekend to participate. The flight will wrap on Monday, September 13.

In terms of other flighting news, we recently announced that the next Halo Infinite multiplayer preview is targeted to arrive on September 24! As a BIG part of the Infinite as well as MCC flighting processes, we run EVERYTHING through our Halo Insider Program which is why it is the focus of our update today.

Halo Insider Registration
Are you a Halo Insider? Is your profile prepped and ready to go? Are you sure? Head to it right now HERE. If it doesn’t look like this image below, then you might not be ready.
