An idea that I'm sure most people will share is the notion that microtransactions are bad and are damaging to Halo as a game. However I recently started thinking about the issue of microtransactions from a new perspective with the trade-off being either, no microtransactions and paid dlc, or micros and free dlc. To be honest with myself, the latter is much more appealing. One big problem with paid dlc is that it splits the player-base, where as microtransactions can always be toned down or limited. One idea I had for this was to make the armour customisation the same as in Halo 3, and give weapon skins and other cosmetics over to microtransactions. HOWEVER even though I think microtransactions should be in Halo Infinite, I do not want RNG loot boxes. I want to know what I'm paying for. I think this would create a more honest connection between 343 and the player and help Halo Infinite maintain a strong player-base.
