To all of you saying that 'our reward should be given in the game we play, it shouldn't make us play a previous portion in the series', ok, but have you thought about this:read the bold, thanks!
The reward could be a 'thanks for investing time and love into the WHOLE of the series, not just the one game'. We have Helioskril already for such reward. Might I suggest something on the lines of a “dull, lazy, or unrecognizable emblem” as the reward or the best bragging rights ever.Because if you cared enough to play the prequels to the current installation, then that means you're here for more than just a quick ride before ditching it for something else.
Whatever happened to the times where people would gladly set aside time to play previous parts of a series for little rewards in the current installation? Are we all just 'live for the now not the what was' gamers these days? What little rewards before the MCC?In short, what I ask is: why is everyone so upset about having to play Halo 5 for a little reward in the upcoming game? I mean, it's probably going to be something small anyway, so why be upset that you might not get it? 50mil exp for 152 is a huge time investment, if the reward is junk then players with 152 might get upset for grinding to 152. Also if the reward is amazing then players whom are intimidated by the grind feel upset because they can never obtain the reward. We can’t assume the worth of the reward until the game is out.
I mean, Helioskrill was an alright helmet; what was so bad about it other than the fact a different version was made for those who were unable to get it?
There were also games in the passed that gave you either little Avatar props or other things for playing previous games. Besides that, the greatest reward you could have had was the enjoyment of playing the games that came before the most recent. Microsoft has only recently made it more common for you to earn little goodies for investing some time into previous installments, but there have been the occasional treats here and there in the past.
I mean, getting to Inheritor was just as painful back on Reach, and that was because we had a cR limit of like 200k a day I believe. But people still managed to get there in just a few short months after the rank was dropped and they didn't even get anything save for a skull faced Operator helmet lol. So, what's so different about getting to 152 today? I'm honestly curious considering not many people seemed to openly complain about grinding to Inheritor just to have a haunted helm that you can literally buy for 1cR once you got the rank (at least, as far as I am aware).
And that's the unfortunate thing about rewards; not everyone will get them. Everyone has equal opportunity to get the reward, but not everyone will end up getting said reward. However, I don't feel the complaints are well placed. You see, this isn't some short timed event where once Infinite comes out the ability to obtain it just vanishes. I'm fairly sure that even once the game has been released, if the Halo 5 servers are still active, you should be able to still get the reward once you hit 152.
I get it; being left out of getting a reward that seems possible to everyone but you, sucks. I've been there, done that. But I understand that not every opportunity will present itself to me and if I miss out, then that's that. It'll suck for a while, but it's still just an intangible item I'll never be able to physically touch. It's not like they're giving out Halo themed cars to everyone who hits 152.
