I dont think swimming would fit SPARTANs with their half a ton weighting armor.

And like said before, teeth arent the scariest thing for one wrapped on futuristic armor.
How would you swim with a half ton of armor on?
Now the suits are airtight and can be used in Space. And I think a few suit descriptions state they are used underwater. So, they could be used to walk across the bottom of water to a target. But swimming is out. And crocs or whatever probably wouldn't be able to dent the armor.
Could work with thrusters underwater or jet arms like iron man.
While I think swimming might feel cool. It’s kinda unrealistic that over 1,000 pounds of dense metal would float when condensed to the size of a man maybe if the thruster pack(if it will still exist) could pull an anthem but honestly I doubt it
If there’s one thing video games need more of, it’s underwater levels. The only thing better than them are escort missions and slidey ice puzzles.

would be awesome and terrefying if you needed to cross a river and it had crocodiles in it or something.
OP, I like the way you are thinking. Something like that could be fun. Maybe not a crocodile, but something else.

But in all seriousness, Spartans can survive space, explosions, and crash landings, but not water? I think its time to have some swimming in the gameplay. And I could really care less how heavy the armor is. It doesn't matter. Spartans should be able to swim.

People want to follow cannon/realism so much to the point that it affects gameplay. I am indifferent to the canon in the main titles personally.

Could work with a little help with underwater jetpack or an inproved thruster system or an armor with floating mechanism

Sure, I don't see why not. That could be an easy explanation
Not swimming, but I could go for proper underwater mechanics. Having separate speed, gravity, weight, and jump heights whole underwater could change things up. Could even add density of water fog to affect vision depth and distance. Nothing beyond that tho.
If John-117 aka Master Chief can't swim, no spartan can!!

I think that would be rather unnecessary. As Halo never really was a naval type of game and if you can remember halo has never had good luck with water. Also crocodiles? I don’t think that really fits halos astetic it seems like a far cry type of thing.
Halo never really tried water. so you can't say it had bad luck with it
Let's get the game right before we start adding some gimmicks here.
