Please don’t bring up playable elites, classic gameplay, or Reach/4 armor customization. Let’s get different, new ideas. Everyone’s already formed their opinions on the above (for the record, I want playable elites only in Invasion/Dominion/Crusades, modern gameplay without charge and ground pound, and obviously I want Reach/4 style customization), and they’re often divisive.

What are some of the lesser known things you want in Infinite? My list is as follows:
  • I want the Wasp and Revenant back. The Wasp was my favorite vehicle in 5 and the Revenant was my favorite in Reach. Maybe the Wasp could get a buff so the weapons aren’t useless but I felt the survivability was good for the role it filled. The Revenant should get a bigger splash damage radius and maybe the passenger could get an angled turret with an energy shield so people have a reason to get in.
  • I want the Swords of Sanghelios to have the “new” Covenant art design, but any other Covenant to have the old one and the Banished should obviously have their unique design.
  • Campaign loadouts and multiple ways to complete each mission. Maybe you can go in with silenced weapons and crawl through vents, or you cold go in with a shotgun and knock in the front door.
  • Space combat, in campaign and in multiplayer. It would be cool for the Sabre and Broadsword to fight side-by-side, fulfilling different roles. Maybe the Sabre is really fast and agile with better shields while the Broadsword is slower but with better armor and weapons. The Covenant would need to step up their game, and I’d love to see Promethean space vehicles.
  • I want to man an Onager MAC again.
  • The Timmy helmet *must* return. I swear, it’s the best 343i helmet design in 5.
  • Bigger game types with more players. Let’s see a 24v24 or 32v32, or hell, even a 64v64.
I want the Prometheans back again. It wouldn't really make sense for them to be scrapped.

I would also like evil Cortana to make a return so that her story arc can be continued and/or finished. It wouldn't really make sense if the was just killed off in an external media, like the Didact.

The Promethean weapons should not be completely re-done again, like how they were from Halo 4 to Halo 5. I'd like if they took the form of Halo 5's incarnation (albeit, touched up for classic gameplay which we may not be getting if a leak is anything to go by).
Okay. Hmm... Lasky, Palmer, maybe Roland - Bring them back. I don't want these characters that 343i clearly had long-term plans for to be abandoned.

The squad mechanic for the marines / army in Halo: Reach was pretty nice. It's a shame we never got that again.

I want every weapon in the game to have a unique role as they did in Halo CE and never again since.

Make sure Joe Staten is back to voice the Grunts. Wouldn't mind some "Wort wort wort" also.

I want enemies, weapons and vehicles to stand out visually from their environment as they did in classic Halo CE and 2.

This might come under "classic gameplay", but I'd love to see the return of dual-wielding.

Using Halo 2 and Halo lore for inspiration, I'd love to fight a much wider variety of Sentinels, each form having a unique appearance and providing quite different encounters from one another.

I'd like the ability to kill high priority targets like in the Halo 2 campaign (the Heretic Leader, Prophet of Regret and Tartarus) as opposed to watching them die in a cutscene or quick-time event (like the Prophet of Truth, Didact and Jul 'Mdama).

There we go. How about those?
RetCon all the Cortana stuff of Halo 5.That's all I have ever wanted.
MK IV M.J.O.L.N.I.R is > every armor, peez return. (not H5, too skinny) < Halo Wars.
Even though I don’t Forge, I would like to see a terrain editor for those who do.

One thing I’ve always wanted since Halo 2 is more multiplayer maps that have feature more interactive environments. Whether it’s something simple like opening a gate, lowering/raising a bridge to make a path more or less accessible. Or things that are destructible like a tall tower can come crashing down, that now provides cover in a place that was once open.

Something I’ve wanted to see since Halo 3 and would incorporate the type of multiplayer maps I just described is having multiple objective games in a single game. This would work only in BTB.For example:
Each starts out by having to hold an area down for x amount of time like King of The Hill. Once completed that opens an armory with not weapons but a bomb. Then you have to plant the bomb in the opponents base. Once completed that’ll reveal the area where the flag is to return back to the home base for the win! There could another way where you have to escort the VIP to the armory. Possibilities ate endsless.
I want Duel-Wielding to return. I loved being able to hold two weapons at the same time and I also liked mixing up the weapon combinations. I also wouldn't mind if they removed the thrusters, ground pound, spartan charge, and those other Halo 5 abilities. I didn't mind them being there in the first place, but I also don't think they need to stay for future Halo games.
It's been said in here before and I'll say it again: AI bots so that the multiplayer can be played offline, solo.

It's high time they come to Halo. Every Call of Duty game has had them for the last 10 years. There might have been a time when you could use the excuse that Halo combat is too complex to code bots for, but I'm not buying that anymore - the COD games with advanced movement mechanics have bots that on Veteran difficulty are really, really good - they snipe, they camp, they play objectives, they jump shot/drop shot, they use equipment, melee and grenades... there are no excuses why they can't come to Halo.

Bots would allow people with limited or no Internet to experience the game's multiplayer. Bots would give noobs a place to learn the maps without getting completely curbstomped. Bots give us all a place to warm up. Bots can give us a place to play casual when we just don't feel like trying online. And bots can keep the game's multiplayer alive when the next game comes out.

(The ability to earn reduced XP while playing solo/offline would be even better.)

Make it happen 343.

Fantastic idea.
I want the custom games browser back with more quality of life changes, like more than 10 pages worth of games to choose from and a better search bar.
I want clan insignias in-game, visible on your chest.
I have two things to share. So hopefully you know that in Halo 4/Halo 5 campaign that the HUD has the parts of armor shown on screen (kinda hard to explain, if you don't understand, then look up halo 5 HUD). I want something like that but also in multiplayer. Depending on what helmet you were, the HUD is different. It does not have to be the Shield bar, but the piece of armor above it, the sides on the bottom, and the part on the very bottom. It could be even better if you could disable it for stuff like Major League Gaming, or if you don't like it. I think it will make game play more realistic, and nobody's HUD will look the same. Also, I really, like REALLY want the falcon from reach back, and if they add it back, they should actually make the passenger seats (not the gunner seats) available to ride in multiplayer.
I have a lot of ideas and I think many are unpopular ooinions:

MAPS
-Maps have much higher invisible ceilings so you can retreat into the sky with your banshee etc.
-make multiplayer maps less restrictive with out-of-bounds areas.

-Copy H2 which had maps with destructible environments and objects that could be manipulated to fortify your home base, e.g. using wraiths to move storage crates to block back an entrance to armory or shooting stalactites in the ice cave map to block the front entrance.

-destructible bases and walls that can be destroyed via repeated tank bombardment. Also no more static, immovable, and indestructible car/objects scattered on multiplayer maps; instead allow player to push objects around or destroy them and drive over cars with tanks.

CAMPAIGN
-Night levels with night vision or infrared visor.

-Humans are always “Reclaimers” but all Forerunners/Prometheans always attack on site. Would be cool if you could work with Prometheans for a change.

-Have Chief acquire Forerunner Combat Skin at some point in campaign to unlock new abilities. Would be cool if you could use Promethean translocate ability.

-Tone down how emotional Cortana is always getting around Chief.

ABILITIES
-more spartan abilities including wall jump, and higher thrust-jump

-return of upgrades/H5 armor mods (aka H4 support upgrades) and H4 armor abilities. Use Crysis system so you can switch between four of them at once on D-pad: Promethean Vision; Hardlight Shield, Jet Pack, Active Camo. I realize this might make TTK’s insanely high but I want to see it.

-gameplay quirks and abilities; Gandhi-hopping; jump-thrust-stabilize; spring-jumping; redirecting momentum on man-cannons; bouncing after man-cannon landing; crouching for extra grapple and jump height; thrust-slide-jumping vs. slide-jump-thrusting, animation canceling for quick reloading, etc. All the little physics and mechanics exploits are very interesting, and I hope there are more to exploit in next game.

WARZONE
-ability to upgrade base or armory over time by spending req. energy and remotely control base offensive weaponry, such as designating a spot for a rocket bombardment.

-Weather effects in campaign and Warzone.
-Return to HCE implementation of overshields where they don’t deplete over time but only when taking damage.

-Return to HCE implementation where you are 1st person as passenger on vehicles. Bring back HCE feature for multiple people to ride on tanks.

-turn sniper lens flare off for first shot, then afterwards Visor gives you a warning icon where sniper was determined to be. Tone down lens flare for hydra launcher, rail guns, spartan laser

-Req. level 9 lets you apply two armor mods

-multi: ability for all teammates to visit a terminal in home base that activates when triple-capped to input surrender option. If majority of team votes to surrender the game concludes.

-marines are slightly more dangerous with better AI. In H5 they are friendly with cute dialog, but they should act more like battle-hardened marines.

Ability to command marines to go to where you tell them, like squad mechanic in H5 campaign.

-marines get more aggressive and hate enemy team the more marine kills the enemy team kills.

-More blood and dismemberment in campaign and multi.

-better replay features. Ability to stay on one player even when they die via incineration (in H5 it auto switches you to a different player). Better forward and rewind options. H3 theatre is superior to H5.

-ability to sell multiple reqs. at once.

-I think that Warzone req. packs should not be discounted to players that have unlocked all reqs. This makes the game tough for new players and there’s no explanation that it will eventually get cheaper and easier to acquire reqs.

WEAPONS
-Bring back HCE plasma rifle effect where being shot by plasma rifle mildly stunned you and made it harder to walk and turn.

VEHICLES
- ability to use req. points to refresh/upgrade existing vehicles to improved variant. E.g. spend 4 req. points to pull Wasp and then another 4 req. points later on to repair it and get small boost to shield strength and weapon damage, or speed.

-lesser known/used vehicle abilities; banshees can fire super-fast homing shot if timed just right after flip; banshees flips can knock vehicles over and boss off map; banshees have air brake. Wraiths have glide ability. These abilities are really cool, and I hope all vehicles have them in next game.

I agree with all of these 100 percent, and I love that you want 1st Person as passenger.
I hope to more list based UIs instead big squares in grid formation. The most comfortable UIs imho have 3 columns with the option list on the left, a graphic or image in the middle and a description in the third column - or alternatively beneath the image. I'm sick and tired of big squares with small titles in every game... :P
The main menu that Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 3: ODST had were by far my most favourite set pieces in Halo history. Halo 4 and... 5. Didn't possess the main menu theme that I had grown to love all this time. I miss being able to go to the kitchen and cook food while listening to an entire orchestra and coming back to a firefight or even a diorama being played in front of me for about four minutes. It brought such light to my day, just that simple and heartfelt UI, that I was so immeasurably saddened to find out Halo 4...5...and Halo MCC have quite lackluster UI. I want my diorama back!

I liked Halo 4’s menu music, though. I thought it was great. It felt really lonely, which was the tone that they were going for.

Halo 5’s menu music was pretty forgettable, though. I just played it the other day and I don’t even remember what it was.
wo ho ho hooo... uwu this made me think of all those things i ever wished for... but never said because i thought they were unrealistic expectations... but here we gooooo.

- banshee , flyable with the option to fly using jet style controls... actually extend this to other aircraft too... and heli style aircraft to fly with helicopter like controls.
- space battles, in mp .... once upon a time star wars had a mode similar to what i mean. Not sure which one that was.
- someone else in this thread said it and yes... for the love of god... Ai in multiplayer... this would open soooo many possiblities... Like.... so many. Especiallly if they were scriptable. Im pretty sure this option would most certainly multiply the playablity of halo by... idk.... a few thousand years XD... more realistically... for at least a few years. and by few I mean well beyond a halo development cycle... This way the community can even make like... mini campaigns... not to mention... perhaps make it alot easier for 343 to add dlc (;3 you are welcome 343 please take this suggestion and run with it)
- odst drop spawn style option
- someone else mentioned it in this thread... and yes ... for the love of god... landscape editing. project spart style editing comes to mind... in halo 5 343 took a nice first step in the right direction... figuring out how to make the texture with landscape objects work out. Continue !
- playable everything (in custom games) lol... why not. what ever is not entirely scripted in campaign... should relatively easily be playable.
- now that I think about... with the forge options , and some of the ideas presented here... allow a mod mode. fixes alot here actually. If you kinda made a mode that merges the forge experience with developer tool kit thingy... heck ya. suprise us.
that last option basically invalidates all my previous points because if we are given that.... everything... and i do mean everything is possible. Shifts the work load off of 343 for most of the suggestions, and passes it onto the community. All 343 then has to do is make a nice user interface and a clean , bug free ( or but reduced) forge.

that then leaves story telling to be wished for. Id love for a more polished, spartan ops kinda mode where we get to play other characters in the lore . . . playing out the halo novels of the franchise... Hell yes please... please. even as dlc, i'd pay for that.

Edit: um... oh and 8 player split screen pls O W O
More realistically 4 player split screen (;w; yea i know split screen is confirmed, but... is it 4 or 2 players? I NEED 4 at least)
edit again : 4 player split screen... IN CAMPAIGN
1: I'd prefer it if sprint stays. Going back to classic Halo is nice every once and a while but also feels like stepping back in time. Sprint adds some speed that I find to be missing when I go back.
2: I don't mind ADS coming back.
3: I like Warzone Firefight to return.
4: I like REQ weapons to return. Not the entire REQ pack thing, but the weird weapons. They make Warzone fun and Super Fiesta is insane with them. Lets not forget that stupid playlist are just as much a Halo thing as hardcore Team Slayer MLG.

Other wishes that might not be brought up that much:
- A space fight mode similar to BF2's game mode.
- Invasion needs to return!
- Smart AI again. Make enemies take cover properly like they did in early Halo. Also: make them hold secondary weapons (for Elites) and switch according to need.
- Bring back buggers and Skirmishers.
- I'd like a combination of Invasion and SWAT. Tight quarters, having to infiltrate a stronghold (or defend it) with nothing but BR's, Pistols and the ODST SMG.
- Bring back ODSTs, drop as many SIV's as possible.
- Bring back older vehicles. Hornets and Falcons next to the Wasp for instance. Return of the Spectre.
- Bring back dual wielding.

Probably more things I can't come up with now.
I might get just a little backlash by saying this, but have at least some elements of Halo 5 return. I honestly liked most of the stuff that was added to halo 5 when it first launched, i.e. being things like clamber and spartan charge. I thought it was a nice way to represent the meaning of a super soldier in battle. After all, it is 2558 during Halo 5. With such advancements about over 530 years, it would only make sense that spartans are capable of certain actions. Aside from that, (this has probably been a highly requested thing, but whatever) I was also thinking of actual water blocks for forge. It would give many more opportunities for unique map creations. As an addition to that, one of my other hopes for Infinite are more air vehicles. Can be brand new, or old, it personally doesn't matter to me. Preferably UNSC ones though. Maybe at least have a segment where we can fly a working a pelican or phantom. It could hype the game up even more, or at the very least make it more fresh. And the last thing I definitely want to see is having a first person view in (some if not all) vehicles, or maybe add it as an option in settings.
