What's the point of new leaders when you can never even get a game long enough to build them cause rushing has completely taken over this game. Rushers are the liberals of the rts world cause there a cancer and ruin it for everybody.

Dude you think rushing is just wearing a blindfold and spamming units? People who rush often as their play style have to follow specific unit builds and get map control early. That takes skill and planning. Do you even know what people do within the few minutes leading up to the rush? They aren't chilling there and sipping wine they're making sure they prep up for the rush so it doesn't fail, and if it does so that their economy won't be so badly set back as compared to their enemy. Have you ever successfully repelled a rush and gone into late game with a rusher? If what you said about rushers being complete noobs who only rely on rushing to win is true, that means that in a late game scenario with a rusher you'll definitely win, am I right? Totally not being sarcastic. Rushers don't just rely on rushing good rush players know what to do the moment their rush fails and they have to go late-game. Rushing isn't some noob tactic that horrible people do to torment others, it's a viable part to RTS and thus halo wars that people should learn how to counter.

However, halo wars 2 does have quite a few really broken rushes that have to be fixed; they're just way too darn effective for the rusher. But once those patches come out people like you have to acknowledge that rushing is a legitimate strategy that is here to stay, so you better do your research, practise more, and master how to counter rushes and get back the advantage.

Yeah I know that casuals like you and me who are new to RTS don't want to have to deal with a rush every game as we just want to chill and have fun, but complaining about it and cursing those people who rush isn't right. We just have to grit our teeth and accept it, it's part of the game and it's completely justified.

But a triple Kinsano Turret rush? Oh hell no lol

the only thing about rushing that takes any skill at all is microing of units which granted does take a lot of skill but id be more impressed by amazing micro big army vs big army rather than just seeing jackrabbits vs jackrabbits vs some marines but hey, rushing will always be part of rts strategy. imo its kinda like camping in a fps yes its a stupid strategy but it is still a strategy none the less =/

I understand that rushing is a strategy, always has been and always will be. It just gets ridiculous when, at minute 4 there's 10 jackrabbits swarming your base. Or on a 3v3 there's 30 jackrabbits swarming your team's base. There's -Yoinking!- nothing to be done about it. With that kind of force your retaliation will be squashed and you have no hope of recovering. I understand rushing is a strategy, and i love that it is. But it shouldnt be that OP.
One more thing I would like to say that I shouldn't have to cause it should be common sense.

Moving the kinsano turret drop doesn't do anything to fix rushes so anybody saying this update will help you are mistaken.

All the people that did that turret drop rush will now move to doing jump pack brute and scout rushes. So pretty much doing nothing to fix rushing.

1 thing I learned is that no matter what there will be players that ruin games and its the developers job to fix that.

Even if there's is only 1 rush that works these players will do it cause it gets them cheap wins and at the expense of ruining it for the majority of players. So until they remove the ability of OP rushes, halo wars 2 will soon be a " what could have been game" Hence while this game is failing when it should be exploding with players but like always developers get there ideas and feedback from cracker jack boxes fortune cookies and that little black ball that supposedly tells the future when you shake it. (All jokes aside this game is trash when it can easily be gold) fix rushing=next big game but it's almost getting to late as alot of players are already over this game

Put Donald Trump in charge so he can make halo wars great again before it's to late

The games rushes can be beat easily, you are just not putting in the effort to do it. Upgrade your turret at the expense of a later tech one turret is sufficient enough to stop a jackrabbit rush with a defending army. If you are getting defeated constantly you are not learning how to counter. Ministry but rushing is and will forever be apart of an RTS get used to it, besides I thought you were boycotting this game so why does it matter to you anymore? The turret drop will stop a two minute rush from kinsano, I am very thankful for that. Not everyone wants to sit in a game for 30mins or more. It's not a cheap way to win it's just a way to win. I'm not a rusher in a techer btw.
Your a terrible teacher. Yes maybe that turret can defend but guess what your opponent will have a secondary up and all the mini bases cause you can't expand cause his scouts are still there and your still lose

Upgrading a turret that quick lol your be so slowed down you won't have a chance

You must play against beginners cause that is a terrible strategy and won't work against anybody good.

Come back when you actually know what your talking about

Ps I said I wasn't going to play until they make this game enjoyable. It's not even worth playing right now. I've been playing rocket league and world of tanks till they fix it. If they don't me and my buddies won't start playing it again and won't be buying a 343 game ever again
It's useless arguing with someone like you. Rushing is going to be in this game just like Warcraft 3, starcraft, etc etc any rts game. Sorry to see a fellow halo wars player go but if you can't counter it then I guess you lack the ability to adapt.
I would like a non rush mode maybe 10 minute grace period...sometimes i like to chill and build uber units without some scrub plat player thinking he's the -Yoink- cuz he caught me sleeping
Go play strongholds or against the AI lol takes 6 mins to get to tech 3 and you get unlimited resources basically or the AI are not as aggressive as real players in ranked. A non-rush game type would stop the complainers though.
Just saying everything is counterable I haven't lost to a jackrabbit rush in awhile yes 3v3 rushes are different but it takes time and trying different strategies to counter rushes but it's not that complicated. There is still so much to learn from the original game try doing more unique strategies and straying away from basic builds. But when is it not considered a rush anymore ?? because end game if im Banished vs a UNSC I'm at a disadvantage attacking your bases because of the turrets damage diffence and other disadvantages. At what point of war does the enemy say let's wait and let them regroup their troops ?
Flame warthog rushes are quite powerful as they can circle the base extremely quickly and wipe out individual buildings before you can even retaliate, and elite rangers would be fine in my opinion if their range was improved, that way they can stand a chance at stopping hellbringers and marine rushes etc
If 343 wants to keep this game growing they have to add in a new game mode for the majority that don't rush and il tell you exactly how to do it. You don't even have to pay me 343

I hear people say 5 or 10 min grace period where you can't attack. I don't agree with that.

Instead make a population cap of 30 units until the 5 min mark where it jumps to the regular population.

That way you can still fight for the mini bases and power nods and explore and grab resources but won't have enough of a force to kill a main base

Next get rid of ability to build scouts or any unit out of a mini base but give the mini base a turret that you have to build

Next make locust tier 2 unit to build jump pack brutes need tech 2 to drop mines and lower damage dealt to bases. Get rid of scouts gun and give them alot of armour so they can actually scout.

Make the main base start with turrets that way they can't hit the main base with the limited troops there have at the beginning

Of course we can add to this game type with updates but to start with that 343 would have easily the most played game type. Also add gates that players can put up or drop if they control a garrison
People obviously do not have a grip on reality. I will agree that rushing is part of the game... to a point.

While it may sound extreme to call it a disease, anyone with any kind of online gaming experience will not disagree. Just as in ANY game on ANY platform when someone finds something that works, it does not take long for everyone to mimic. What makes it a disease are the bad things that are getting mimicked. It's not just strats that get mimicked either; glitches and cheating (when found) spread like wildfire as well. Someone said, "stop crying and get better, none of the rushes are broken, it's just your skill noob." If anyone thinks that the triple Kinsano rush or jump pack Brute rush is not OP or "broken", is truly the player with no skill. The ONLY way to counter that is to do the same thing, which unfortunately is what far too many players are doing. Yes, it spreads like a disease. I jumped on the other day for the first time in a week or so and it happened 4 games in a row, different players every time. I shut the game off and haven't played since. The scout rush is defend able but not when paired with two people spamming jump pack brutes. You absolutely cannot defend against something that kills an entire base at the beginning that quick... Unless, you do the same thing.

The best counter for most rushes is by doing the same exact thing. So you want to fault people for not liking rushers? It's a big part of the game? Yeah, maybe so, but not for the players who want to build an army or even units besides infantry and scouts. Yes, there are a substantial number of people who rush, but that does not even scratch the surface of the number of people who don't. Please don't try and argue that fact... Of course I got rushed four times in a row.... I have a high rank... I've only lost about 6 games since the ranking came out. SeaPenny making the point that this game will die out soon enough is spot on, just like Halo Wars 1. Rushers will do the exact same thing every single game, and as of now, just like HW1 there are NO counter units to defend well enough... EXCEPT, the exact same units.

It is perfectly reasonable for gamers to want the developers at 343 to have a ranked playlist that makes rushing a non-viable option OR a counter to the rush that doesn't either a) cripple your economy, or b) leave you stuck with worthless counter units. For people thinking eventually the ranking system will even it out... WRONG! The ranking system doesn't even it out because the rushers are so bad they create new accounts and go play with their buddies to lower their overall matchmaking level. Calling people noobs and saying they aren't good enough to defend and that is why they are crying is laughable. If the only game type available was non-rushing, most rushers would be on here crying because after 10 minutes into the game they have no idea what to do.

You wanna rush? That's fine by me, but understand you are ruining the game for the vast majority. I rushed in HW1 for a few months, in order to get higher than lvl 40-45, you had to... Yes you could fend off an initial Brute or Arby rush, but the really good players finished it shortly after that with Banshees and Tanks. If you didn't go at them and slow them down as well... game over. However, for me, the rank (and hate mail) wasn't worth it... it was so boring doing the same thing over and over. Just like HW1, in due time, the only people left will be the rushers and people who never play the game and don't know how bad it is.

343 needs to fix something if they want to keep more than a thousand people around.

I applaud your agreement. A new game mode has a high potential to help diversify the game but not just any game mode. It has to be a ranked deathmatch. After all, it is much more difficult to rush in Domination due to the fact you start with turrets, however, nobody plays domination.

Just to clear it up I have been playing rts for awhile plus the first halo wars since it came out. I played with alot of the top (rushers) players in halo wars but quit playing with them cause it was boring the game was decided in the first 4 min.

It's obvious it is pointless talking to you guys cause your content with leaving this game trash. There won't be any big championship or league play or high stakes tournament and this game won't be a hit cause every game will be the same rushes and won't be exciting to play nor watch. I'm tired of players saying rushing is apart of rts. It doesn't have to be. If you want to keep it in it thats fine but make a game type for players that don't want to and we'll see which one attracts more players. . I'm fine with having units early to fight for power nods mini bases but you shouldn't be able to kill a base with starter units so quick.

Rushing should be a risk. It should hurt your economy and your start and if your rush fails you shouldn't be better off then the player you rushed.

You don't have to play 30 min matches apparently if you are your either to bad to kill your opponent and need the experience or both teams are good counters to each other which makes for an awesome back and forth game which is exactly what we want so the better team wins. Put strategy back into RTS. Unless your fine with every game being locust brutes and scouts then this game is going nowhere.

Make a game type for players that don't want to rush. If you rush a non rushing player it doesn't make you good quit thinking you are. I refuse to do these rushes not because I can't do them (Helen Keller can do them) but because it is no fun do it. I'd have more fun throwing rocks at a wall then do these rushes. Make a new game type 343

I agree rushing should be a risk. To be honest the whole "Power" resource thing is kinda ruining the game. To learn from halo wars 1, when you rushed it took a lot of supplies to build those units and you desperately needed those supplies to build reactors to tech up. In this game....the power resource is completely separate from the supplies. Building supply only units does not hurt your tech at all...which is completely ridiculous. Especially when rushers have all the units to take all the power nodes in the beginning of the match. Basically build a rush to stop one is the only solution and that's not fun for most players. The whole power resource thing should seriously be re-evaluated.
Now I am in no way advocating the current broken rushing strategies like the kinsano and anders turrets or the dying breath hammer brutes that stay alive for an absurdly long amount of time after death however there are many ways around the conventional rush. Scout early check for expansions check the pads on the expansions check their current units for upgrades if they're bases are locked there's but so much they can do without you knowing if you scout and if they do prepare accordingly get turrets up if you see something work towards counter units. 9/10 times conventional rushes aren't even meant to take you out the game then and there but simply to set you back long enough for them to get a supply and tech lead and eventually win the game later on and that's what makes rushing a valid strategy in a regular rts game. For everybody that complains about losing within the first 10 minutes there's an equal amount of people that don't want to play 30+ minute games because they didn't work for an early lead. Rushing is a valid strategy but so is defending a rush. Most people diamond and lower have no idea what they're doing after a rush is successfully defended because they usually don't get that far. I honestly think we should just wait for the patch to address most of these problems it's a work in progress to eliminate the broken rushes.

Most rushes in HW1 only needed tech 1
The banished really get screwed over in the start of the game with having only 2 grunts. 2 grunts is 200 supplies and 2 marines is 300. Based on cost alone banished should start with 3 grunts. Not only do they have less health and damage but their collectipn speeds are slower which puts the banished at an early disadvantage and makes them unable to contest resources on the map such as the large rings of energy often located in the middle of maps. I play mostly banished and am tired at having to run from a single marine or getting my grunts messed up even if its a 2v1 because of the unbalance.

what if we had a game mode that was like a tower deffence game like one of the missions in halo wars 2 campaign where we defended the forerunner weapon and another game mode where its 1 vs 1 vs 1 and what about drones and jakels as our units to come

make hunters. or cyclops. if youre letting the enemy get up 6 scarabs without you even noticing you should either take the game back / uninstall it or you need to scout them. scarabs arent even that good in this game just gigantic sponges.
