Hey! Tashi here with some more updates on various topics related to the Halo Championship Series.
Heavy aim update – Last Wednesday, we released the “heavy aim update” at 9AM PT and here at the studio we’ve been watching various player streams and monitoring community response. So far, we’re seeing very positive feedback which is encouraging, but we’re going to continue to keep an eye on things. We’re also going to be sending out a survey to HCS Pros first to gather even more feedback. You can get all the details about the update here.
Sticky Grenades / Multi-shot – The development team is currently going through testing and verification processes for this update, and with the heavy aim update having been being released, we’re now looking to release these fixes next. We’ll continue to keep the community posted on the latest as it comes in.
Balance Update – Before the start of the season, we removed a number of items from the sandbox for the HCS Summer 2017 season including the Assault Rifle, Splinter Grenades, and more. The sandbox team has been hard at work addressing issues based on feedback collected, and balance data collected from all Halo 5 matchmaking. In the coming weeks, ske7ch will be working with the sandbox team to provide a detailed look behind the curtain.
DreamHack Atlanta FAQ – We’re currently working with ESL to put together a detailed frequently asked questions (FAQ) article providing clear details on what to expect for the big event on July 21-23. Once it’s posted be sure to let us know what other questions you have as well, and we’ll continue to update the article as soon as we can. Lastly, I would love to create a FAQ and update it as time goes on for each event – let me know if you’d like this!
Open Circuit broadcast – The Millennial Esports team worked diligently to address recent feedback about broadcast video quality, specifically around perceived resolution and “fuzziness”. For the show on Sunday on June 4, you should have seen a dramatic improvement in video fidelity and the Millennial Esports team is dedicated to continuing to improve the show. Thank you to those that tuned in!
HCS Twitter name – Today, we’ve updated the HCS twitter name (not the @) to “Halo Esports #HCS” in an effort to make the account more discoverable as well as clearer for people who might have an HCS tweet come across their timeline. We’re also looking at other small changes to help provide a little more clarity and be a bit more welcoming for fans less familiar with the Halo Championship Series.
I’ll be back again later with more updates!
Thanks,
Tashi
