My bare minimum expectations (please read 343i)

OP MottledMango147

Halo 5: G minimum requirements...

There is a list of many things I want Halo 5: G to have, but I won’t list them. I am only listing the bare requirements that Halo 5: G that I have for Halo 5: G and expect.

GRAPHICS:

-1080p 60fps (Explanation: if Halo... XboX One’s biggest and most expensive game can’t do 1080p 60fps, no game on Xbox One can...)

-No low res tetures (Explanation: This is next gen, low res textures should be a thing of the past. Low resolution textures are in excusuble on “next gen” consoles such as the Xbox One or the PS4)

-Droplets/condensation on visor in rainy or misty areas (Explanation: Metroid Prime, a 2002 video game could run this, no reason Halo 5: G a 2015 game can not run it)

-Footprints and Tiretracks on snow/sand (Halo 3 featured this a 2007 game, no reason why Halo 5 a 2015 game can’t do this).

MULTIPLAYER:

-16 vs16 BTB size MINIMUM (Explanation: CoD Black Ops 3 is rumoured to have 32 vs 32, you can’t let CoD beat you 343i! Halo 5: G has to compete with CoD Black Ops 3 AND Star Wars Battlefronts huge multiplayer battles. It better bring at least a decent BTB team size to the table)

-"Space battles" OR "giant land battles with scarabs, pelicans, and elephants" OR "both" (Explanation: How can Halo 5: G possibly hope to compete with battlefront if it doesn’t have a single space battle in multiplayer? Not to mention Halo Custom Edition could run space battles and scarabs and pelicans in multiplayer and that was a 2001 video game engine. Surely a next gen 2015 engine can do this. A 2001 video game engine could do it there is NO EXCUSE for Halo 5: G not to be able to run Scarabs, Pelicans, and Space Battles in multiplayer.)

-4 player split screen (Explanation: there is really no excuse not to have this, its fine if the resolution, fps and graphics are bad during split screen (so long as single screen looks beautiful), that can be forgiven. But 343i, you can’t kill LAN / couch co-op, its a significant part of Halo. LAN / Couch Co Op defines Halo just like master chief, or the significant soundtrack. Not to mention killing it would be taking a step backwards. Last gen could support 4 player multiplayer, but next gen can’t?! Why did I buy an Xbox One?!)

-The kill times (how fast you die) in Halo 5: G’s beta was WAY too fast, Spartans need to last longer. (Explanation: People complain Halo is becoming CoD, I disagree with them. But a part of Halo multiplayer that makes it Halo is the player has a fair amount of health. By having Spartans last long in battle, that lets the player fight more tactically and makes the game more competitive and fun).

CAMPAIGN:

- A good story with a good moral (Explanation: Halo 4 had a great story thanks to 343i’s old lead writer. Current lead writer don’t ruin Halo 5’s story, make it good. You can’t afford to mess the story up when competing against Treyarch’s Black Ops 3)

-include some of Martin O Donnel’s Halo songs (just a few included in the sound track, Microsoft owns these songs, there is no harm in including them. Especially the Halo theme)

-Dual Wielding (Explanation: I understand dual wielding is hard to balance in multiplayer, so be it, but there is absolutely NO reason for it not to be in campaign where balancing isn’t as critical. Dual Wielding is a unique part of Halo).

-Global Battles [this is a global battle] (Explanation:Halo 3 could have ran it, there is no reason Halo 5 on next gen can’t run it)

-Innovation ( Explanation: There are plenty of ways to innovate the campaign, be it STEALTH ELEMENTS, or PUZZLES in campaign, WATER BATTLES WITH A BOAT AND SWIMMING, or UNDER WATER BATTLES WITH SWIMMING, SUBMARINES, AND SPEAR GUNS. My bear minimum expectation is that at least ONE of these several ideas are used).

Fix Halo MCC:
-You angered your fanbase 343i, I understand if it was a mistake no developer is perfect. We all make mistakes. I, in fact love you 343i. But there is some worry that it wasn’t a mistake and that Halo MCC was intentionally a scam and a quick cash grab. I thought Halo 4’s campaign was beautiful, so I trust you 343i, and hope that MCC’s bugs were honest mistakes and not a rushed cash grab. But MCC is broken, you fixed it, the population dropped, now its broken again. If you rushed Halo MCC to make monney that not only hurts us, but it hurts you. You are killing your fanbase every day that Halo MCC isn’t what it should have been. Don’t try to hide it and cover it up, bring it back to life, release a free map pack. If you make Halo’s fanbase love you again, you will become popular, and make a lot of money that way. When the fanbase loves you, they will tell their friends how awesome Halo is, and bring in new fans. If you piss of the fans, you will loose money and Halo will die. Be smart 343i, make Halo popular again, if you please the fans and new players, and ultimately make TONS of money. Make money the right way.

I have a lot more personal ideas and things I want out of Halo 5, but this is my bare minimum list, and if I don’t see Halo 5: G doing this, not only will I not be satisfied, but I will be disapointed in 343i and Halo 5: G might not be successful. My expectations might seem demanding due to the list being lengthy, but all these suggestions have been pulled off by other games (even other HALO games) from OLDER technology, there is no reason why the next gen xbox one can’t do it!

What is your bare minimum wants for Halo 5: G? Don’t get too fancy, just your bare expectations.
Don't like it don't buy it.

that is all.

dont you want Halo 5: G to be the best game it can be?

Not to mention my expectations arn't to high, Halo CE and Halo 3 achieved my list. Halo 5 :G shouldnt take a step back.
Found myself agreeing with everything except for the duel wielding.

Of course I do, and it is from what I played if the beta. But in the end it all comes down to if you like it? Do you enjoy it? Etc. if it's yes buy it, if it's a no don't buy it. That's it simple.

you have to try it to like it. not everyone got mcc and played the beta. besides it was only a beta.

I loved the beta,

I just hope that the other modes (campaign and BTB) meet my expectations, we know nothing about them.
Global battles should definitely be a thing.

Good luck with your 'bare minimum expecation' of 1080p 60fps OP.

You will totally not be disappointed if that's your minimum expecation.

It's pretty clear that H5 will NOT be 1080p.
If it's 900p with relatively stable 60fps that's probably the best we can get.

There was solely '60fps' in the trailer.
Beta was 720p.

It's amazing how people set up themselves for guaranteed disappointment.
-No low res tetures (Explanation: This is next gen, low res textures should be a thing of the past. Low resolution textures are in excusuble on “next gen” consoles such as the Xbox One or the PS4)

This is just unreasonable. Why waste processing power rendering high res textures on objects or geometry you're not able to reach or get close to? You don't benefit at all from high res textures on faraway things. A lot of these expectations are kind of dumb.

No low res within a reasonable distance. For example, if I zoom into an object or a dead body, I don't want to see the textures get blurry, or low res textures when I'm up close to a wall, it breaks immersion. As for objects that are far away in the distance (like mountains), that is fine because from my viewing distance their resolution will look fine.
Halo 5 is not going to be able to run at 1080p, this gen of consoles just can't run highly detailed games at that resolution. Which is pretty sad with 4K becoming more common.
900p is a stretch, but 720p will for sure be something it would run.
lololololol

You think 343i can read.
Lol wow. They probably won't do most of this stuff, though.

...you got a belly laugh out of me there! LOL
You really cant tell the difference between 900p and 1080p though.....so give me 900 with a nice smooth framerate. Hell even at 720 the game looked pretty amazing....

Then why the hell did we buy it then!? If doesn't even have that over the 360, why did we shill out $350 for it?

OT: Only unsure about Dual Wielding and 16 v 16 BTB. I really don't think Halo works with insane player counts. It kind of freaks me out that everyone says they want them.

Dual Wielding could be used in Campaign and Multiplayer if the two guns I used were the same type and never used separately. Instead of one SMG on the ground, and having to find the second to dual wield, there are just two SMG's there and they both function as a single gun, albeit one that takes two triggers to fire. I can't drop one to grab another gun, I can switch between them and my secondary, and melee, without losing my second SMG. This keeps it balanced with the rest of the sandbox, but still keeps the inherent look of dual wielding.

In 16 v 16 games, low kill times are almost always essential so as not to overwhelm the player. When you throw Halo into that pot, who have 16 Spartans who take an entire clip and a full 4 seconds to kill. That's insane. 32 player Halo is a crazy notion. If you really want bigger BTB insanity: :D
