I do not like the new style of firefight at all. Having a timer instead of lives makes the player just feel rushed as opposed to feeling tactical and trying to survive as long as possible. I am able to just run around and not care about trying to survive because there are no consequences.
Using req cards is pointless because it does not feel satisfying killing any ai characters with a banshee or rocket launcher when a battle rifle or pistol will generally suffice. You should still earn in-game spendable req points but instead of using them on your own cards, use them to activate specific traps, vehicles or weapon spawns on the map.
Finally, I can't just play with friends. I honestly want a game type that I can just get a few friends together and chill in this game type for a couple of hours, not competing against 7 other random people I don't know or care about.
I love Halo 5 and enjoy playing warzone, arena and the campaign but I feel the original style of firefight would have been a great addition to this game rather then this version of the game which has taken away most of the fun aspects.
This is not firefight... Bring back halo ODST firefight with lives and just waves of enemies. not this infinite life bs with a ton of easy "bosses" firefight should be difficult not tirelessly boring. If you're going to call it firefight make it real firefight. not this barebones impossible to lose stuff.
its pretty good but I feel like warthog drivers need to get more assist points i can drive my friend for the whole game him kill almost every single boss and still end up almost at the bottem of the list (halfway if i try to run over every thing) just hoping they can change that other then that i think its pretty good
Add game modes like

Escort "like escorting vergil in odst"

Vip "one random teammate is cup of he dies you lose lifes if he lives you gain lifes. But have his health on vamp so he has to keep killing to stay alive .that way they don't camp"

Totally take over "everyzone in any map is a capture zone. Piece by piece"

Generator defence "no decription needed"

Juggernaut "highs kills or points dose more damage is faster and has overshield"
343 could easily make a firefight mode like halo reaches (if they make the effort) may not be as good but just have the Spartans hold the garage/fortress from waves of enemies with lives.
It's was fun. It wasn't immersive enough, there weren't enough enemies, no punishment for death. It's annoying because instead of it being a survival type game, it's a challenge to see if you can kill the wardens. So this should be fixed
I like firefight but I guess I have found an issue, if you're playing with good team and everyone have unlocked level 6 reqpack, you'll be available to use the scorpion tank, which means; easy kills. This broke the immersion of what really firefight is, SURVIVE.
Just a couple of issues:
  • the opening music sometimes cues in and sometimes doesn't (actually happens sometimes in arena too)
  • i noticed that some kill medals weren't showing up. I have no idea if the kills counted but especially noticed on the "kill watchers" section medals wouldn't appear on several occasions.
  • Round three is by far the hardest with defending the garage. Every other one could probably be bumped up but that stage is the only one I was caught up on.
First thing: Warzone Firefight is fun. I am enjoying every minute of it.

My feedback is not about bugs though, but more about mechanics and how Warzone Firefight "feels." WF feels like a series of missions as waves. I like the objective based feel but Firefight in the past has been more about survival. Several mechanics are coming in to play that don't give us the survival feel, such as the req system, massive maps, and the addition of 4 more players. These are welcomed mechanics, and are probably why it's called "Warzone Firefight" and not just "Firefight." The unfortunate side of this is those elements take away from the survival feel.

If this is the way Firefight will be now, that's okay. I am looking forward to more waves and higher rewards when WF officially launches. However, a classic firefight survival feel would be a welcome addition if included, even if it didn't have matchmaking, and will be sorely missed if not.
Please join my spartan company. (Rekt Noob)
Love the game mode and would like to see it expanded. The game modes suggested would be great. But, i mainly would just like to see more difficulty. Maybe harder enemies. Or perma-death implemented for the rounds. If you die in a round, you do not come back until the next round starts. It would add a lot of difficulty, teamwork, and could increase the motivation for living. Right now i just push as hard as i can until i die, then do it again.

Also, i do not understand how you win... in multiple games myself or other players have more points, boss kills, and npc kills, and LESS deaths than the "winner"???? I just cannot figure out how you get placed 1st right now... I have played a lot of Halo, from CE all the way to 5, and i do not feel like i should struggle to understand how you win a game... I assumed points, but obviously that is not the case.

Great game type, especially for the beta, looking forward to the full version. I was begining to get bored of the grind in halo, firefight is the motivation i needed to keep playing. Thank you, 343 for listening to the forums and adding compelling content. Work on your Arena levels though... lol
cool
Will be very fun when you guys release it. One issue for me. Way too easy. Maybe a set life total with tougher/higher HP NPCs?
It's really fun, but in my opinion, just not difficult enough, and ends way too fast. I would add in more rounds, at least 10, and add in more difficult enemies throughout, maybe some legendary bosses in the earlier stages, and a larger quantity of legendaries at the end.

This is tough to do since FF in the past has traditionally only had 4 max teammates working together, but I think above suggestions would help with 8 players, but maybe allow for infinite rounds as another variant to see how far you can go with say, 10 lives. This is what made FF so great when it was introduced in ODST.

Another suggestion: skulls introduced for each round.
Beta seems great but tbh being able to play lone wolf style would be awesome.

The Warzone Firefight Beta has arrived, and we want to hear your feedback! Be sure to let us know what you think in this official thread.

The Warzone Firefight Beta is available until April 18, don't wait to jump in!

Update:
The Warzone Firefight Beta is all systems go. To thank you for your patience, we're extending the Beta an extra day (until Tuesday the 19th)!
I think that there needs to be infinite waves, and you have to survive as long as possible.
I haven't been playing halo that much lately, but from videos I've seen. The req points you earn from a match isn't worth the play. I saw a guy use A lot of mythic weapons and only earn 2k. unlike normal warzone you get that gitty feeling everytime you kill players while this is only AI.
Is it me or does the tank gunner and that warthog driver get hosed? I noticed that when my team took down some warden bosses I did not get the boss take down even though I layed into the almost point blank.
Also driving around while your team mate is on the gun, why does the driver not get credit for the kills the gunner makes?? Also if you don't give the drive kill credits at least let him get some wheelman commendations.

Also, WZFF is great!!!!!! Thank you!! Can't wait to see what it becomes once you guys go thru. All of these comments.

I feel the same way. It makes it a consequence when you die because it leaves your team with 1 less person. I like the whole req idea but they should change it back to halo reach way where every (in this case 5th wave) set of waves is complete with a boss like it is now but then restart the pattern and continue going on if you choose to for a certian extent of rounds. I like this but when I die I feel like it isn't a big deal except for when it comes to defending the garage. That I feel is the only time where dying is a issue.
They should implement the old way of firefight with the new theme of random encounters but make it non time limit OR if there was a time limit it would be a req ordinance. It would be in the random category and if you complete the task then you can get rewarded by getting reqs randomly (not every wave but a random bonus wave. Don't remember if they did this b4).
Mixing new ideas in old is in my opinion where firefight should have gone. Like it's always said Don't destroy what worked but improve upon it.
What I mean by this is keep the wave and round things the same but add the randomness and reqs like now.
Don't get me wrong, many enjoy firefight and I do too, but I feel like it is too easy with unlimited req uses like we have now. Make it like I stated before with the challenges and dying needs to be consequential to the team by no respawn till round end. Oh and board able vehicles please. If it's taskmaster or something just make the damage a fraction instead of insta kill with the grenade.
That's all I got thz for reading and hope 343 actually takes this into consideration for the old firefight aspects. :)
As represented in the beta, my impression of Warzone Firefight is that it's a very casual, mostly easy mode. It gives you a chance to run around, shoot at things, die, respawn and sometimes flex your muscles (with whatever REQ's you choose) without consequence or seriously presenting any sort of challenge. The team dynamic which made previous iterations of Firefight (not Spartan Ops) most compelling is missing because everyone is just doing their own thing, even if they are shooting at the same target. If it remains the same, I foresee this current mode of WZ FF becoming either a playlist to grind for REQ points with little effort or a casual break from the other competetive modes but the population will probably drop away over time.

Ideas for improvement (or possibly a separate "survival" playlist)
- consider limiting REQ access, either make it so you can only access them during the intermission or slow down the regeneration of REQ energy, making your choices much more critical about what you can call up, knowing that you can't just pull another Scorpion tank out when one is destroyed. Someone else did suggest a REQ penalty for death which may be possible as well, say -2 REQ levels.
- limit lives (individual or shared among the team) and institute a revive mechanic so people have to work together. Shared team lives would be most cohesive but I can see where a randomly matched person could use up all the lives without caring about the rest of the Fireteam. Individual lives (maybe start with a reserve of 3-5, plus 1-2 per round) would make that less of a problem and still allow everyone to restart at the beginning of each round.
- maybe allow smaller Fireteams (probably at least 4+ though) and scale down the difficulty accordingly so . Then people aren't forced to join with people who aren't friends, which disrupts the team dynamics.
- These changes would likely necessitate some changes in enemy numbers or health because it would be much much more difficult than the current FF mode.

I love the Halo series, ever since I played Halo CE, and H5 has been a lot of fun. I actually like the new mechanics (sprint, boost, clamber) quite a bit and the game modes are a lot of fun. I'm hoping to continue playing H5 until H6 comes out so hopefully, this contributes to the longevity of the game :)
