I've seen the arguments against it. I think they are weak and very subjective. There is a small group of players that they feel that their way of play is superior to all others. While not acknowledging that the gamer population as a whole do not think like them. I'm not talking Halo players, I'm talking every player that plays shooters period. If sprint were really disliked that much it would not be in COD and Battlefield and Battlefront. Go to any gaming website and post that you want Battlefield to remove sprint as see what happens. Not having sprint is not what makes Halo, Halo. What separates Halo from most others is shots to get a kill due to shields and motion sensor(which is not more like other games , but that's another conversation). Halo compared to every other shooter takes a lot longer to get a kill and thus a wider skill gap. The only other game that comes close is Plants Vs Zombies garden Warfare with its TTKs. As we all know sprint was in Reach, It was in 4, now 5. It will be in 6. Count on it. But they cn still give you something to play as I have stated with a single gametype. But even a suggestion to ADD content people have issues with. how many games will they make with sprint before this dies? will it be H6, Will it be H7? H5 was designed with input for PRO players. They obviously wanted sprint otherwise it would not be in the game as seeing how this game caters to them. Go to other game sites and chat with people and see what they say about what separates COD from Halo. I have spent quite a bit of time on other sites discussing games. Nobody every EVER sites sprint being added as to why they don't play. They site, it takes too long to kill, they site the radar. they site the incredible lack of balance with weapons of prior games. NO I'm not speaking for every single gamer. My point is, neither is anybody else on here. If sprint were that big of deal H4 would not have sold the millions it has sold. H5 would not have sold the millions it has sold.
I still don't get the hate for sprint. It is so trivial. "sprint allows players to run away" My answer to that is so what? Of all things that can be wrong with a game. Sprint should be the least of your concerns. how about disconnect from the server? that's a real issue. EVERY SINGLE TIMEI start up Halo 5 I get "REQs not available" message. It does not matter what internet I'm on. IT Does it EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have to go and "Test Multiplayer Connection" in the xbox settings. Once I do It then immediately works. That's a real problem. Horrible team balancing in match making. That's a REAL problem. Organized parties playing randoms. THATS a real problem. Sprint? that's not a problem. No, sprint is still a problem, one that we've been dealing with for the better part of a decade. If you're truly curious as to why sprint is looked down on, I'll explain if you'd like. I won't argue, but if you ask questions I'll inform you of the answers.
Better yet, maybe visit the Team Beyond forums, because many of the more skilled players frequent there and know the franchise's gameplay inside and out and could probably explain it better than most people here. Though just the same as here, you're best of asking questions to become informed rather than arguing why one side is right or wrong because they're probably fed up with arguments like that. Many of them would likely be fine with answering the questions you have, possibly in great detail.
You say "small group of players", but I could point you to a ton of polls, both on this forum and others, that show anti-sprinters are the majority. The Halo audience is the one that matters. 343 tried making a game for everyone else (Halo 4) and it was god awful and only sold as much as it did because it was Halo and fans had never been slapped in the face like that before. Even still, it sold less than Halo 3 despite having a comparably MASSIVE install base. You don't make a game that appeals to everyone because it can't. When you have a fanbase, they come first and the rest come second. And considering Halo 5 is the worst selling game yet (since Halo 3 at least), your argument on sales doesn't really hold much water. You seem very out of touch with fans opinions and even the opinions of those who don't play Halo (since, they still don't polay Halo, despite having sprint).
Pro players don't have any significant input on the game. 343 tells them whats gonna be in the game and the pros are there to help balance everything. They're advisors at best and I'd be surprised if you could find many pro players that think Halo is better with sprint (again, Team Beyond could probably speak better to that).
