the tank is awsome
Where where you hit? Tanks have weak spots, so do everything else. The scorpion vents heat out the back in a spot, if it gets hit by a splaser it's a one hit K/O.
Slow down when you type, it might help your case. Yes it's the worst tank yet, but that's been a trend since Halo 3.

If you don't have ONI versions of the vehicles, you don't have the vehicles. The ONI vehicles are the true versions of the vehicles, that operate most like the previous halo games before. The rest of them are scaled back junk piles given to casuals to make it feel like you are helping the team too.

If you want the true versions of the vehicles, grind or pay.
You say "casual" like it's a bad thing

Pictured: the tank not being useless.
Are you like, 8 years old or something? Use some -Yoinking!- punctuation, people might take you seriously then...

And for the record, it's just you. I have no problems doing well with any of the vehicles or the weapons, even the underpowered Mantis. Also, the laser didn't kill you in one shot. You were damaged before. The Spartan laser can't even kill a mongoose in one shot, it's not going to one shot a tank. And if it did, then they moved around you to hit the critical point on the back which is just you being outplayed.
I think that the scorpion is a very useful piece of equipment. So what if you get killed quickly? You have a chance of getting some long sprees with it, maybe you just cannot use it to its maximum potential.
Use it defensively from afar.

The Scorpion should always be used as a support platform and remain at a distance, preferrably with some cover nearby and a few spartans to ward off any would-be ninjas. Lay siege to the enemy with round after round of explosive shelling, and always keep an eye out for pulsing red lights or burst of green plasma rocketing towards you. If you see either, move into cover.

The Scorpion should NOT be driven out in the open, without any cover, and without an escort. If you operate the Scorpion like this (essentially, with the attitude that you're a one-man/woman army impervious to anti-tank measures), you're gonna have a bad time (and probably come onto the forums complaining about how an anti-tank weapon anti'd your tank -.-)

Weapons are only as effective as the spartan using them. Use them intelligently, and you'll do just fine.
Perfectly explained.
Yes this. Most of you don't seem to understand how to use the scorpion properly and ultimately - dare I say - suck with it.

Hell, I'm absolutely terrible with most if not all vehicles (pretty much since CE). I'll be the first one to admit that, but I understand how they can be effectively used. And I see them (especially the scorpion) being used very effectively in the matches I play from time to time as I am sure all of you have seen at some point as well.

Maybe be next time ur in a match with or against someone using a certain vehicle effectively, pay attention to what they do/how they do it and try it out for yourself.

Eh? Threads like this have ALWAYS existed.

It's great for pushing in to the core room with the team.

All the vehicles are useful if you use them right.
Exactly. Also, there are variants.
you could always one shot a scorpion if you hit it in the right place. Its the heavy, the big guns.

The laser is not always a one shot kill onthe tank
The only real reason we have a scorpion is because we need Sheila. To like, settle problems such as falling ships, and the international dibs protocol.

the enemy could've been using a Selene's lance......that thing is OP!!!!
Tanks are really only meant to provide firepower and protection from small arms, not from a weapon like Spartan laser.
But yes, the ttk in H5 is faster.
Am I the only one Ho checks the persons stats, ranks etc before making a reply to these types of forums? Just go look at his ranks and stats and that will all you need to know

This is a rage post. Are you actually asking what the point of a tank is? A tank? Dude. Think about that. It's a tank, it doesn't need a purpose. It has one anyways. It's meant for heavy ground support and demolishing everything.
