Sound issue:
Halo:CEA
1. Plasma pistol sound, at campaing firing very rapidly ir quickly your plasma pistol triggers a plasma pistol being charge sound.

Halo 2 A
1. The enemys firing weapons sound very little even at a short distance.

On Halo 2 during the first mission "The Armory" as I walked into the elevator with Sgt. Johnson the ships that you can see in the distance during the second mission appear up close. The ships are flying thru the stations mac gun. I was playing on classic graphics so not sure if it occurred on anniversary graphics.
In Halo 2A Campaign, Elites still don't dual-wield. And when you melee an elite, their back will face you momentarily before they turn around.
Hello, here to report a few issues I've come across in the first 2 hours of the CE Campaign. It's been a while since I revisited the campaigns in the current non-beta MCC, so some of these may be legacy bugs. Please note that all these errors occurred with the Anniversary graphics on, running off an external HDD, being played in HDR, and running off an XBox One X model.

Anyways, I've noticed a good bit of stuttering on the Pillar of Autumn mission. Additionally, I had an odd lighting bug where the lighting very abruptly changed a few times when traversing the Forerunner tunnel in the "Halo" mission (I have confirmed that this lighting bug does not exist in the current retail version of MCC). Lastly, I tried activating the terminal within the tunnel and was sent to the Halo Channel, as was the norm in the original game build, but the game closed entirely as well; afterward, the system would auto-boot into the normal non-Insider build of MCC. I tried repeating the process with the same terminal and was met with the same results.

A little bit of feedback for the final release, or some patch down the road, please let terminal videos load from within the game instead of booting you out to the Halo Channel. It's an overly cumbersome system that takes too long and kinda pushes you out of the experience (even when it didn't literally close the game on you). Heck, add the videos as an option to the intelligent delivery system so that those who don't care for them or don't want them taking up more space have the option to avoid having them take up room on their hard drive.

Update: After moving the game from the external HDD to the internal storage there was no change in any of the previously described issues, so that's not a factor. I've, also, gone back to collect footage of the lighting glitch I was experiencing and took a comparison video with the retail version of MCC.

Update 2: Found a new issue, that being that the pause menu pops up between missions after fully completing one and right as the next one loads in.

Update 3: Had a bug occur that caused weapon sounds to become mute. This occurred right after the Jenkins cut-scene in the 343 Guilty Spark mission. Saving and quieting and then returning to the game did resolve the issue.

Halo:CEA - noticed then when changing control scheme, the tutorial buttons didn't match up to changed buttons (not sure if this happened in previous ones)

(Can't really argue with that resolution increase, though). All that light ruins the atmosphere of the scene. Especially when Cortana has her ... moment. Here are a couple gifs for comparison:

I really hope they fix this. It kind of ruins that whole scene.
H2A seems to have trouble when I get into vehicles since there is a massive frame rate drop, on Xbox One

I disagree.
You disagree that it's not a bug, or you disagree with the function? Ever since campaign scoring was introduced, that's always been how it is.
With the function. You could argue that it's your own faut if a friendly AI kills you but how is losing points bc you reverted to the last checkpoint AFTER being killed fair? I don't care if it's always been like that (though I'm not exactly sure it has)
I dont know if the Audio for the Halo 2 Classic Campaign/multiplayer is supposed to sound so bad or its just me, but yeah this has been the most obvious issue i have run in to
My experiences so far:

Halo 2 Campaign:

  • Before the first mission, a Halo 5 cut scene shows up..why?
  • As we start the Cairo mission you are told to 'repel the Covenant boarding forces' before the cutscene is played, for new players this ruins the cut scene before they've even played it.
  • My Internet connection dropped briefly and I was booted out of the game, not sure why network connection affects a SP experience.
Halo 3 Campaign:

  • Audio cutting out every now and then
  • In the first mission as the pelicans are attacked by banshees we hear "I'm hit, ahhhhhhh' twice. This glitch was present in 2007 I can't believe it's still here in 2018.
  • Audio becomes dull and muffled at times
  • Plenty of texture popping in even on Xbox One X
Halo CE MP:

  • Shooting the plasma pistol numerous time makes it sound like it's overheating
Halo 2 Remaster MP:

  • Assault rifle sounds very odd
  • Lockout, the glass in the middle of the map looks awful and very pixelated.
General:

  • Frame rate drops galore in all campaigns, even on my Xbox One X.
Looking forward to diving into some MP action this weekend for more stress testing. Campaigns look stunning in 4K HDR.

Thank you for mentioning this because I forgot about it. The reason I forgot is because it's so bothersome that I started avoiding using the damn thing. I don't remember if it was in the 360 version of CEA, but it's definitely in the current retail build of MCC.

I finished Halo CE last night
  • MCC HALO GAME: Halo CE
  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: Lightning issues in "The Maw" Level
  • REPRO STEPS: Launching the game in Anniversary mode UHD on X
  • ADDITIONAL INFO: lot of lightning glitch,similar to those on "The Silent Cartographer"
I noticed the audio issue with lip synch is present all the way to the end of the game and some FPS drop in the large area with huge numbers of IA - almost all the flood levels in fact.
Okay to start off there are some issues i thought would be fixed with the update but are not.

  • In Halo Combat Evolved the original sound effects for the guns are STILL missing.
  • In Halo 2 the Bandanna skull still doesn't work with plasma weapons or weapons with a battery such as the plasma pistol, plasma rifle and the sentinel beam. This does however work with plasma weapons in halo 1.
  • In Halo 2 there are still enemies in the campaign who duel wielded in the original xbox version but not here. A good example of this is in the mission Cairo Station around the half way point where Masterchief takes a step outside the ship and is greeted by two jetpack elites. In the original game these elites were duel wielding plasma rifles, but they are not in Halo 2 anniversary.
Please fix this 343 so we can get the classic Halo experience that was promised to come with the MCC's campaigns. Also if anyone knows where i could report these bugs/issues please reply or report these for me.

Got a LOT of things to report/give feedback on. This was all performed on an Xbox One X currently on the latest Alpha ring in the Xbox Insider program. More details can be provided if needed:

  • MCC HALO GAME: Halo: Combat Evolved
  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: Lighting in Anniversary mode is buggy.
  • REPRO STEPS: Once Chief exits his crypo pod and is directed out of the room, follow the NPC until he dies and walk backwards and forwards in that hallway to see the lighting flickering. This sort of issue is present through the entire CE campaign.

  • REPRO STEPS: You're not able to perform this consistently but when switching between graphic modes, the game can freeze for a few seconds without warning.

  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: Checkpoints on Time tracker doesn't always stay inside of its intended box.
  • REPRO STEPS: Enable Competitive Time or Time before starting a campaign mission and pay attention to the checkpoints in the bottom right. In a lot of cases, the checkpoint tracker will slip out of its intended zone.
  • ADDITIONAL INFO: In the image here, two of the checkpoints are outside of the intended box.

  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: Flicking in the skybox during the closing cutscene of "The Maw"
  • REPRO STEPS: Watch the closing cutscene of "The Maw" until the part where the Halo ring is being blown up. The skybox features a lot of flickering.

  • REPRO STEPS: Load into the Heretic Leader fight and see how he only holds one Plasma Rifle. I know this issue was mentioned in a recent dev blog, but I just want to reiterate it still isn't fixed in Flight 3's build.

  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: A wraith spawns upside down near the entrance to the Control Room on "The Great Journey".
  • REPRO STEPS: After Johnson boards the Scarab and the player acquires the Banshee, proceed to fly directly to the Control Room. Once you reach the two Forerunner pillars prior to the Control Room door, fly down to the beach and look at the Wraiths that are on the right side. One of them will be flipped every time, with a Brute standing on top of them.

  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: Time bar in Theater mode is transparent.
  • REPRO STEPS: Load any Theater clip for Halo 3, campaign or multiplayer and look at the time progress bar. This bar should fill up blue as time goes on, but it is completely transparent in MCC Insider and retail MCC. This isn't the intended behaviour.

  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: Random models, objects, etc can load in completely black.
  • REPRO STEPS: N/A - this issue happens randomly. Random items like the Brute Shot, Plasma Pistol, parts of a Ghost, a Marine helmet and a Battle Rifle would load in completely black. This would vanish on a checkpoint restart and come and go randomly. It also isn't synced between players in co-op mode.

  • REPRO STEPS: Watch the ending cutscene of "Reclaimer" - the lighting is flat out broken and looks unfinished. This issue is present in retail MCC but not on the Xbox 360.

  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: A random Elite on "Dawn" gets stuck in a door way and will walk backwards and forwards.
  • REPRO STEPS: Proceed on "Dawn" until the room where Chief mentions that "these Covenant seem more fanatical than the ones we've fought before", the room after this features this problem. Continue through the room and as you try to exit, an Elite with a Concussion Rifle will be stuck rotating constantly.

  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: The "Halo 4" logo that pops up during the final sequence of "Dawn" does not fill the screen fully, resulting in flickering white bits.
  • REPRO STEPS: Finish the playable sequence of "Dawn". Once you reach the ending part where Chief flies through space and is eventually hit by the debris, the Halo 4 logo will pop up and will have flickering white space at the bottom of the screen.

  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: Dialogue fails to play sometimes - this issue is really bad during the campaign. Important dialogue is skipped and missed entirely if subtitles aren't enabled. Appears to happen for dialogue where a character talks on the players HUD.
  • REPRO STEPS: N/A - this issue can happen at random through the Campaign & Spartan Ops. It happens every time at the beginning of Spartans Ops 1-1 where Palmer talks for the first time when the player gains control of their character.

  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: "Epilogue" cutscene/level is missing from "The Master Chief Saga" cross-game playlist.
  • REPRO STEPS: View "The Master Chief Saga" cross-game playlist, the "Epilogue" cutscene/level is absent. This results in an awkward transition from the ending of Halo 3 without showing Chief surviving, to him being alive in Halo 4 drifting in space.

  • ISSUE/FEEDBACK: Shields are still incredibly difficult to see while playing in Remastered mode.
  • REPRO STEPS: N/A - not a bug, just a nitpick that's been an issue since CEA released in 2011. I'm forced to play in classic mode most of the time just to see enemy shields.

That's one of the "Bookend" cutscenes. There's another one at the very end of Halo 2: A.

Though... They do make more sense at the very beginning (before Halo: CEA) and at the very end (after Halo 4)
Me and two friends, one US one UK who never, EVER could connect and play together on any campaign can now connect. So far I haven't experienced connection issues yet, we have noticed when you enter the start menu the background freezes on what ever the image was when you hit start. When you exit menu it's fine. On the original Halo 3 release didn't the background of the start menu show a live although blurred view of your HUD?
I just installed the new update you released and I have to say I'm impressed! The issues I had and posted yesterday seem to be fixed! The elites in halo 2 a campaign now flinch when you melee them, instead of having their back face you and wait for them to turn around. However, in all the campaigns, I'm still noticing a lack of certain shadows and lighting. Is this intentional for the build or is it a bug?
During the mission "Assault On The Control Room" at the part of the mission when you abandon the tank and lead the marines thru a small cave and up a cliff side I think the wrong music is playing. I always remember the Halo CE "Covenant Dance" soundtrack to be playing. I'm not sure what's playing right now but it's not "Covenant Dance". I may be wrong but as a kid I always remembered that song playing right as I came up over the hill.

I'm playing Halo CE on classic graphics and on normal difficulty.
Looks like there is a music bug going on in the campaign menu. I am clicking on Halo 2’s campaign and it begins playing the Halo 4 music alternatively. Backing out of the menu and going back in do not solve it unless you go all the way back to the main menu.
