Hello MCC Insider flight participants!

Now that the flight 2.0 has concluded we have swapped over the playlists from Halo 3 to Halo 2 Classic. We would love to gather feedback on how our most recent changes feel in game for those that are playtesting these playlists. Please feel free to hop in, play some games, and leave feedback here.

A few bugs on the latest build:
- Field of View looks zoomed in compared to the FOV for H2CMCC right now. Value should be 78.
- Input lag is still noticeable. Adjusting deadzones. The advantage of a small dead zone is responsiveness. Because it requires less effort to move the crosshairs, you can look around and acquire targets faster while playing. You also have more precision in making fine adjustments, such as when aiming with a sniper rifle. The disadvantage is that, because the controls are so sensitive, it can be hard to keep your crosshairs centered on your target while you are moving. Because the game picks up any movements you make with the mouse or analog stick, your viewpoint can change unexpectedly while you adjust your position or if you are startled by other players.
- Bomb arming meter is not a smooth progression. Bomb arming meter stutters when progressing. Clip can be provided if needed.
- Medal delays. When a medal is earned there is a delay when it's displayed. The announcer voice is delayed as well.

The shot registration and stability seemed pretty solid on the 1.431.0.0 build. Hoping more fixes to come!

- Also.... I've heard this is just an issue related to AMD but I'll bring it up anyway... There's no snow on the map on lockout, only in the background... Can we get some falling snow or an attempt to fix?

- The black screen melee bug is back. Sometimes getting melee'd hard will make you go black screen when waiting to respawn. I guess the camera just stops existing or gets obstructed?

- getting random frame drop or frame pacing issues or something. Game randomly will skip a beat. I got a clip of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ulyjHJfYNo
To add to the above, the carbine now seems to shoot fine however if you reload while shooting, the reload animation will not play but will reload
Sweet. How long is this going to be active for. Reason I ask is I'm under the weather with a nasty chest cold. I'd like to start looking and playing this in a few days as long as the population stays good.

Expect that we will have this content available to play for the next few weeks. However, we're currently aligning on the content package for the 3rd flight which we will eventually force users to update to.

Think I forgot to mention - Hitting ‘Xbox record this’ menu and x - brings up a menu in game behind the dashboard ‘record that’ menu - like in OG MCC which I don’t think should be brought up at all, but also takes a very long time to close after closing the ‘record this’ dash/overlay.

I very much dislike that as well..
Played a for a few matches, here were some of the things I noticed;
  • My first 2 1v1 matches had extremely long load times, and started without the other player (don't know if they were just quitting, or if something else was happening). Video; https://1drv.ms/v/s!AsCw5DiIPc4NxC7y_xNMW6nlNrNb
  • Load times usually took longer than they did for H3, which doesn't seem right
  • A 1v1 match on Lockout spawned both of us within 15 feet of each other. Not sure whether or not this is consistent with classic H2, just seemed odd to me. Video; https://1drv.ms/v/s!AsCw5DiIPc4NxC-lUzo5y_COtHR6
  • Lockout snow effects are still broken, similar to what would happen after picking up the Black Eye skull in the original Halo 2

  • Melee momentum physics are still broken, though Sean C. tells me that bug is being tracked now

yes melee momentum physics aren't very good especially with 1v1 snipers the melees don't hit a majority of the time and for some reason you cant lunge when behind someone with the sniper. pistol lunge is almost like having a sword. the melees sometimes go through the person but they still hit however the person your melee drops out of FOV or just runs through you completely.

also quick scoping and no scoping are very different in this build it like you have to reposition a lot after moving like frames are skipping while quick scoping

the 1v1 playlist needs the spawns looked at there were a few matches where player spawned next to me or in the line of sight. 1V1 snipers I feel shouldn't have a secondary pistol off spawn it should be on map somewhere or not used at all.

There are couple of sound glitches where I couldn't tell which direction I was being shot from using a headset. and also plasma noise got stuck in a loop after being stuck with a plasma.

Also for some reason you have to be right up point blank for the shotgun to register as a hit. back in the original halo 2 point blank shotguns were instant kill or if somehow you missed shotgun + melee = kill

Grenade physics need to be tweaked slightly for both plasmas and frags. plasmas tend to float further than intended and bounce off players on occasion and can players can sometimes tank through frags and plasmas when the land in proximity.

Unfortunately I don't have footage because I forgot how to clip things on xbox just some of the things ive noticed playing 1v1
hey my friend play this game recent few days but not a lot but he's very trying to help us to get this update for my requests and getting this what we wants the most and also that I was hoping you take my advice of this request option trust me it's maybe be worth it for the update as reset game progress compare on call of duty game and if you don't believe me then checked it for yourself it's there and evidence is here.

Ps: I don't wanna to begged or bugged people I know but I am very waiting for a good news about my idea but then I see it's not happening well I don't know I just had to see till july or final notice news of this game must be the final answer!

The lockout spawns have always been like that, there's so many spawns you're bound to get one right next to each other.
There's always been that bird/eagle sound on lockout hanging around near blue.
Melees have always been somewhat inconsistent in H2, you'll get ghost melees and some where it'll take 3 to kill.
I'm not talking about Melee inconsistency, I'm talking about how Melees lack the forward momentum that they had in both H2V and H2X

I don't think this is a bug - in my opinion, what o Bushwick has performed here is a "doubleshot" (RRX), one of H2's later-found 'pro tricks'.

DeRsKeezY, with your background I'm sure you already know most of this, but for everybody else who might not know:

By pressing R, and then R and immediately X, this gets two shots off quicker than they would normally be possible and also initiates an animation-less reload.
As o Bushwick was testing the firing speed and then reloading, it looks like he timed the RRX well enough that it worked.

Doubleshot was generally used in competitive play with the Battle Rifle.
Pressing 'YY' quickly between "RRX" cancels the animationless reload, and quickly allows you to "RRX" again.
RRX-YY-RRX (quadshot) is enough to kill a fully shielded player extremely quickly.
It is difficult to do in game, but very rewarding if you pull it off, and can be used if an opponent gets the first shot on you as a way of clawing your way back in the battle.
Can also be used R-R-RRX, normal shot, normal shot, doubleshot which will kill if all shots land.

I didn't get an invite to this flight, but this has been in the game since H2X's original release and is in MCC - heres a video I just captured in retail version of MCC

What you see in the video is:
-A few double-shots(RRX) with the BR (with some YY's in between)
-Carbine firing and carbine doubleshot (RRX) showing exactly what o Bushwick experienced (normal)

After that, I've also shown you an RRY, requiring similar timing, but getting a second 'phantom shot' delivered after you swap weapons.
You can do this to yourself if you are walking, and if you have no shields you will be killed by the guardians.
RRY is another pro-trick, if you have a secondary weapon, RRY'ing your second last shot before switching to your secondary, if timed correctly, will get a phantom BR shot on the enemy which means they still take damage while while the weapon change animation is playing.
You see this on the last one where I switch to Carbine and my second BR shot comes out just before the carbine starts firing.

I just want to re-iterate - all of these button glitches exist in the retail version of H2, and they are some of many that form an integral part of how H2 was played, particularly competitively.

EDIT: Back when competitive Halo was huge, Toxic Euphoria was probably the best at this in the world.
Here is one of his montages, it is so hard to fathom the intricate skill involved in a lot of these plays... The sheer number of buttons pressed all in perfect time, he was a true master.
