Well, I just played Infinity CTF and several people quit right off the bat.

Quitters suck.

But if the quit bans bans aren’t enough to deter people from quitting Infinity CTF, then I guess, yeah, put it in a playlist where people want to play it so the people that want to play it can have fun.

Or we can just wait for the custom browser. Because that’s how pc CE worked. So everyone that was playing wanted to play that thing, whatever it was. We also had JIP for PC, and you could switch teams mid game, which (in my experience) always led to evenly matched games. If my team was pubstomping, I always switched teams. Plenty of other guys did, too.

Edit: Why are people so self-centered? Would it actually kill you to just play the game that comes up?
I'm with you. Quitters need to be crushed with bans, not just this 5 minute junk. They need multi day bans from XBL entirely.

On another note, HCE DESPERATELY needs join in progress. The game already supports it, cause people have joined my custom games mid game. Blows my mind that it isn't on there. Would really love to hear the reasoning behind not having it.

I might actually join you.

I used to not be able to play because my connection was so bad that BTB was unplayable. But now that we have dedicated servers it might work.
Going to have to agree with everything Metal God Hand wrote here. Now the only question is when can 343 get this implemented? Sooner rather than later I would hope.

Looks like a bloated 2's or 4's objective playlist. When 90% of your maps are ones made for 2's or 4's, you probably need to reevaluate your BTB playlist. Are there no decent BTB Forge maps out there that you could pick instead?
Forge wasn’t in CE 🤦‍♀️
Forge wasn’t in CE 🤦‍♀️
I wasn't talking about Forge in the traditional sense which I already clarified in my later posts and in hindsight know it was the wrong word to use. There are obviously custom maps made out there for CE so I was talking about that and if there were any for BTB. I'll go back and edit my post in case more people decide not to read later posts. Anyway, Metal already answered my question.
I would personally disagree with u on that , I personally love playing those maps and also those maps were barely appearing on the playlist before the update heck in 2 years of mcc I managed to find blood glutch matches for Ce btb
I have revised the original post. I am thinking it is now satisfactory to everyone?

Sorry but I don't like any of these suggestions.... Definitely no to removing any maps from the playlist. We need all the maps we can get in the current playlist. I really don't get how you want 16 players on the mpas designed for 4-8 players.... Sounds like a complete mess of spawn killing and accidental betrayals because everyone spawning every where. On thing I like about the CE maps for BTB is they are larger and give players a lot more room, but that is my opinion.
I agree that I wouldn't take out Ice Fields or Death Island like he suggested but I can't stand Infinity. That map is big even for 8v8. It's like they were planning to have 12v12 or 16v16 support for Halo PC or something. It is so freaking slow, especially if people quit. And the most frustrating thing about it is I seem to get it more than any of the other CE maps in 8v8. Would not miss it. Honestly, I don't think I'd mind if Gephyrophobia was gone either.

And playing 16 players on smaller maps like Chill Out might seem insane, but me and a group of guys I used to run customs with used to do it pretty frequently and I found it to be quite hilarious fun. I really like OP's suggestion of limiting these sort of games to the Action Sack setting in the composer so that way you can avoid it if you want.

Everyone else on board too?

If people want to play a frantic mess of players on tiny maps in customs then go for it. But no way should it be implemented in regular match making. Also players would be getting banned left and right due to accidentally betraying since it would just be a mosh pit essentially. I play quite a bit of CE BTB and to me at least those who say it's slow just don't know the maps or how to navigate them.
Am I the only one who would like to toss some Rockets in to the mix? If you're going to have Team Shotguns (which by the way I am not opposed to at all, loved playing shotty games in customs every now and then) then feels like we might as well have Rockets too. I actually find it disappointing that as far as I know there have never been any Rockets offerings anywhere in MCC matchmaking ever since release. Not even in action sack.

Edit: Also wanted to add that smaller maps in BTB matchmaking is not unheard of in Halo. Back in the original Halo 2 before the servers went down, I could be wrong on this but I believe you could actually get games on Midship and Lockout in the Big Team Battle playlist. Granted Halo 2 is slower paced with longer time to kills and a different spawning system. But the alternative on CE is these majorly over sized PC maps like Infinity which for some reason seem to get more weighting in matchmaking as I have yet to get Blood Gulch even once and have only played Sidewinder I think once since the composer came out.
I would love to play BtB on the smaller maps. That's more than half of what my friends and i used to do back during halo ce lans. 8v8 chillout, wizard, longest, rat race, battle creek. heck yeah. The betrayal ban system would screw everyone over though. it already screws people over in the CE playlist. It's a laughable system because it's usually someone contributing the most to their team's kill count who accidentally gets booted from the game for random grenades.

Yeah your last sentence here is complete, utter nonsense. Most (if not all) of the best Halo CE players on MCC hate the current btb playlist. If you guys like the slow paced oversized maps, then I say live and let live. The action sack button suggestion loses you legitimately nothing.

Regardless, I'm with you on betrayals. Raising the betrayal limit to ~5 seems reasonable. I will say betraying with vehicles is fair easier than with guns.
Some great ideas here OP. I love that it's the year 2018 and we're fielding ideas for the next playlist update for Halo: Combat Evolved. Can't even believe it!! Thanks 343i <3

It's unfortunate, but if you gave enough people multi-day bans, this game wouldn't have the right population to get in games quick enough. The quitters are a significant portion of the existing population.

Agreed. Hence us needing join in progress. I have a thread on that topic if you'd like to support it.
For the ones that keep quitting, M$ should incorporate an account ban. I mean, if you are that big of an -Yoink- to constantly be joining and quitting games, are you really fit to be using the Xbox live service in the first place? Something like this:

15 minute ban
30 minute ban
1 hour ban
5 hr ban
12 hr ban
1 day ban
7 day ban

Every month the ban count resets. Also this should apply to afk.

I'm with you, but I also hear what others are saying in that quitters do represent a significant portion of the population. So while we want to deter them, the MCC population may be significantly hurt if they are crushed too hard. I personally don't mind if the population is hurt at the gain of good games.

I think the solution is clearly join in progress. I made another thread about it.

Regarding the 8v8 game types, I have clarified that assault games should be 1 flag assault.

Ya the problem isn't so much the game as it is the player base. I'll come across one game out of every 10 where someone can actually break 20 kills. Most of the time the other team when no one quits still has single digit kills and double digit deaths losing by 25+. It's sad that a game that's been out almost 20 years needs a join in progress mode to compensate for quitters and afk'ers but it is what it is.
