Hello everyone,

Bomber Mantis Fortress plays in a 2 level arena with 16 deathball trigger explosives which can activate 120 deathballs. 56 deathballs on the upper level, 64 deathballs on the lower level. They can be shot or hit, to lift up and sink down the deathballs on the playground which then will split up into 4 directions to kill everything in their way.

There are initial team spawns on 8 seperated platforms for teams of up to 4 people of any colour.
For free for all matches everyone needs to choose a different colour.

The main goal is to capture the fortess in the lower area and holding it for the longest time, by eliminating your enemies with the deathballs (or swords while they are in a mantis) so they respawn in the upper area outside the fortress. Make the most points within the time limit, or 100 capturing points to win a round.

Each round lasts up to 3 minutes. The first team with 3 victories will win the match.

At the start of each round you'll spawn in a soft killzone beside a mantis with which you can walk on the lower level that contains the fortress.

At the first round you can jump down immediatly after entering the mantis.
But at the following rounds you'll have to time your jump until about 2 seconds are left in the soft killzone. Otherwise you'll die because the deathballs have to retract themselves first to free your landing zone.
With the current initial spawn placements it has to be like this, due to the scripting that has to reset the killballs after each round.

If you leave the mantis, or jump down before entering one, you'll get teleported into a soft killzone on top of the building at the upper level. From there you can see the players on the lower level through the invisible floor. In this soft killzone you can't be killed by deathball bombs.
If you walk out of the soft killzone you can detonate the deathball bombs from above with your sword or magnum to take players out of the mantis and the fortress.
But be carefull, all bombs are getting activated with their vertical twins in both levels at the same time. So a mantis player can still kill you in the upper area by activating/shooting a bomb near you.
If you are in the upper area the bombs are meant to be triggered by your sword, or magnum. But you better sprint out of the way fast after activating one, because it will start to drop down on you. The explosives on the upper level are covered intentionally, so it is harder to shoot them with the magnum from a distance.

If you are trapped in the upper area and want to get back to the fortress, you can destroy one of the 4 glowing covenant explosives at the doors on the building at the center of the upper level. They will stay open for 10 seconds and then stay closed for 50 seconds. So better get down fast when you see the doors are open.
After these explosives are blown up, it will also block the teleport to the upper level, so you can walk in the lower level without a mantis. But after going down you should try to get into a mantis again, otherwise you'll get teleported up after a minute. That's happening when the covenant explosives to open up the doors in the upper level are respawning.
While you are walking in the lower level you can switch from your sword to your magnum and shoot the explosives above, to trigger the deathball bombs.

You also have 2 scatter grenades to trap a mantis and force players to leave their vehicles, before they get killed by deathball bombs or your sword.

To get a fresh mantis from the start platforms you'll have to cleanse your soft kill timer first (don't enter a soft killzone for a couple of seconds) and then be fast. It is timed so you can make it barely down in a mantis at the last second.

If you are in the upper area you can evade bombs by jumping up and staying in air while aiming or charging your ground pound. But don't do it for too long or too often, since there is also a soft killzone in the air.

"Bomber Zombie Infection" is an alternative game variant with the same map concept, but based on the infection gamemode. It is meant to be played with the map Bomber Zombie.

The big difference here is that zombies spawn in the upper level. The goal is to collect points by surviving the longest time, or as a zombie by going down and killing the last survivor with a sword while he is in his mantis.

Survivors can get out of the mantis but they will be teleported up to the zombie nest if the zombies haven't destroyed the covenant explosives. In the upper level without the mantis they can be assassinated or killed by deathballs.

For the zombies and teleported survivors, it is possible to get down to the lower level as long as there are covenant explosives at the center building. They can be destroyed with swords and the magnum. But they will open up the doors only for 10 seconds and then respawn after 50 seconds, just as in "Bomber Mantis Fortress".

Zombies have scatter grenades to paralize the survivors in their mantis. They can also easily kill you with their sword if you are in a mantis. So better get out as soon as you see a zombie approaching you in the lower level. As mentioned before, when you're not in a mantis, they can only kill you with deathballs or assassinations.

Zombies can't pilot a mantis, so as soon as the covenant explosives respawn, they will get teleported to their nest again.
But if you get out of a mantis and don't manage to get one again before the covenant explosives respawn, you will get teleported to the zombie nest aswell.

this gametype and map I personally think will fit action sack perfectly, the game is called husky flag, its a 4v4 ctf game on a symmetrical map where the map gives variety of cover and multiple sight lines. Each player starts with a light rifle with infinite anmo and no secondary. There is no radar to allow some sneaky plays but be careful not to push like crazy as everyone is a 1 shot kill
there is a speed boost top mid to allow faster flag polle and a faster push, agressive players would enjoy this, bottom mids camo where you can sit back, be sneaky and pick people off without being detected, remember to take it slow though. If you were spotten with flag your detected for 3 seconds so watch out

Version 3.0 includes:

  • 32 respawning scatter grenades to pick up
  • Additional crouch detectors on the red platforms, aswell as markers to show the infected how they can interact with the platforms to activate the kill balls.

  • 2 hidden easter egg scripts to spawn extra weapons for the infected! (Prophets Bane & Voids Tear)
  • Man cannons for the mantis to jump across the map. You can stomp or shoot them to destroy their red mantles, to enable far jumps across the map. The mantles will respawn after 10 seconds so you can control when to use them and how. They get blocked completely if nearby kill balls get activated. You can get trapped at their corners if the infected manage to activate kill balls before you step on the corresponding man cannon.
  • The yellow platforms move down if someone gets in their zone. Depending on the situation, they can act as both dangerous and usefull bumpers for survivors and infected.

  • Size: 2-16 Players (12 recommended)
  • Description
To start the round, hit and destroy the shield you are facing as an infected, or standing on as a survivor. It will make the survivors drop down to the battlefield and at the same time clear the way for the infected to reach the light at the end of their tube where they'll fall down to their own part of the battlefield.

The infected have to run through this horizontal tube first, to arrive a bit later than the survivors on the map, so they can't kill the survivors right at the start. As a survivor you will get dropped behind a mantis. Grab it immediatly and jump down, or the soft killzone will turn you into an infected.



Infected:

The infected can jump from platform to platform above the survivors, which all are piloting a mantis.
On the red platforms are explosives that can be triggered by the infected when crouching on them, hitting them with a melee attack or by ground pound.

The explosives are triggering scripts for kill balls below them. When activated they rise slowly up from the ground and then spread fast in 4 directions (bomberman style) to kill and infect survivors.

The 2 alpha infetcted can pilot a mantis although they are weaker than the survivors with it.
Alpha infected can gather and carry up to 3 scatter grenades on the yellow platforms to disable a mantis with e.m.p.
All other infected can gather and carry up to 2 scatter grenades.

Infected can jump, climb and thrust to dodge the rockets of the survivors below them. It's also possible to walk on the higher up breakout walls and also on the hightened floors above the red teleport line (in a soft killzone) for a short time.

It's a lot more tricky, but Infected can also ground pound or stand on a mantis and damage it right before it gets hit by a kill ball to get kill points.
If a mantis starts crouching while you are standing on one, you'll get teleported into the kill ball at the center!
Because that's the exact hight where the upper end of the red teleport line starts.

  • All Infected have E.M.P. Hammers to paralize and kill survivors in their mantis.
  • Infected can just crouch on the center of the red platforms to activate the kill balls.
  • Kills as an alpha give you 30 points.
  • Alphas can hover much longer while charging a ground pound.
  • Kills as regular infected give you 20 points.
  • Killing the last survivor gives you 100 Points.
  • Alpha Infected can pilot a mantis.
  • Infected can jump accross the whole map with four mancannons which are facing each other on opposite sides. This way they can start floating in a zero gravity field above the map. This enables them to ground pound on the explosives from far away, to get the survivors off guard.


Survivors:

As a survivor you can use the yellow bumpers and the red man cannons to get fast accross the map. As already mentioned above, if the infected manage to jump on you, (while you're at the bottom level) you simply have to crouch with the mantis to kill them with the teleport line.

Your weapons will not kill them (unless they are in a mantis), only when you make the infected fall off the platforms they will die, because they'll get teleported to a kill ball.
When you try to get out of a mantis that's what happens to you aswell.
The longer you survive, the more points you'll get.

  • Survivors can use mancannons to jump from side to side to "roadkill" the infected. But as soon as the kill balls near the mancannons get triggered, the jump pads are blocked and become deadly traps.
  • Each second you'll earn 1 point for surviving.
  • Kills give you 20 points.
  • Kills as the last survivor give you 30 points.
  • Surviving a round gives you 100 points.
  • Becoming the last survivor also gives you 100 points.


For Infected & Survivors:

  • There are no penalty - points for suicide.
  • Friendly fire is off.
  • A game lasts 6 rounds of up to 3 minutes.
