Tired of joining game after game where people only build scarabs. Thats not a strategy, and if it is one, its a strategy that takes zero skill. IMO it makes the game less fun for everyone including your team mates.
I was just in a game where (big surprise) my team mate chose covenant and only built a scarab THE ENTIRE TIME, even after his 1st two died, smh
People that make scarabs always rush bases by themselves and act like their helping. That NEVER helps your team mates when their getting rushed by two peoples ENTIRE armies together in 3v3. You know, like a team is supposed to play together.
I just don't see the skill. Everyone knows how to sit and not play for 10 minutes while you get enough for a scarab, then you climb over the mountains and repeat what has been done every game since it released on 360.
Except back on 360 you could choose to only play with good ranked people, and good ranked people don't rush with a scarab 100% of the time on every map in every game.
The problem is people rarely use them to help their own team mates, and being on the opposing team killing another scarab just gets old.
Knowing the right time to bring a scarab in the game makes you a really good player.
Only knowing how to make a scarab doesn't and makes every round extremely repetitive and boring.
To the point where i literally feel the need to message people and be like , "hey if you're just going to scarab rush tell me now so i can actually have a fun game with someone else"
I really hope halo wars 2 brings new mechanics to counter the same repetitive "strategies" that people do when playing
I know people are in straight up denial about their scarab "skills". As you said, The problem isn't being rushed because we can deal with a warthog rush all day (which takes an equally low amount of skill and just gets boring and repetitive to counter) The problem is the same scarab rush over and over again, and those same people not knowing how/when to do anything else. It just kills the game. I'm out here messaging people too just looking for people who actually know how to play the game. Hopefully this will change in Halo Wars 2. Or hopefully the noobs will get bored and actually learn how to play like men haha.
i know its lame cuz every game is pretty much a custom game, i want to be able to post some sort of text saying "no scarab rush allowed" or at least put a time limit on it. I dont have ANY problem with people having a scarab ASAP its the fact that when they rush it forces you to go along or have one less team mate to help you out when they get wrecked by themselves. It also makes the game SO repetitive and boring. And almost every one has the idea in their head that when they attack a base by themselves its helping everyone. Which is so far from true during 3v3.

I love how no one else replied to this because halo wars is filled with noobs that choose scarabs every time
You all sound like whiny babies. Scarab "rush" isn't a thing. If you are farting around long enough for someone to build a scarab, then you aren't very good at scouting or Macro-ing your units. I would counter with, if you cannot counter or stop a Scarab "rush", that makes you a noob.

This, killing scarabs is one of the easier things to do.

I've seen 2 forges slingshot a prophet to getting a scarab in 3 minutes. It is a thing, but it doesn't happen that often.

No way in 3 minutes, that is impossible. I did a double feed with two friends on Exile several times and best we could do was 4:57. Regardless, you should have been able to tell with proper scouting and counter accordingly.

Ah, Could be possible. I have yet to run into a game with people using skulls.

Consider yourself lucky. Seems like it's about 1 in 3 games for me.

Really? Just let the people build what they want - or get friends and play with them Mr. ESL Ultra e-sport pro... My god lil kids all around me

The point that was made several times is that its boring and repetitive to play against and its happening a lot. Like its probably THE most common thing that people do on xbox anyways. No one said we cant beat a scarab or two. Also in the first post i mentioned how its just as annoying to have team mates that only make scarabs. You cant scout your own team to stop them from making scarabs over and over again so how does that make us a noob?
Also like i said in the first post, none of that mattered before because you could play with good ranked people and good ranked people don't make scarabs every single game and only make scarabs.

Just because it's repetitive and popular does not make it "nooby." It's a tactic that has casual written all over it, but it isn't any more nooby than spamming ODSTS or teching to any other super unit without building a single other unit.

A casual knows how to play the game, but they reject the concept of competition. Noobs just flat out don't know how to play the game. There's a difference there.

Good point sir!
see people who make scarabs are -Yoink-, i'm one of them because i get killed by scarabs all the time its annoying so stop whining about people using scarabs its apart of the game i'm just doing what others are.
Scarabs are so bad and are only useful if someone feeds the user for a early scarab which is countered by the enemy team killing their base, or with lots of engineers which vampires counter.

I love it if the other team go scarab it is a automatic win, if my team do it I kindly message them to build banshees or vampires instead if they are determined to lose and build a scarab I wont defend them and build my army to counter the others, if I get two folks going scarab on my team that is when I worry.
Message me if you think you can defeat a scarab rush.
