The only humorous character in Spops is Roland. At least he has a sense of humor.

I'd rather listen to the bad dialogue then to hear Palmer's bad attempt at sounding like some, "tough, female soldier who's female that doesn't take no guff from no one because she's FEMALE!".

I especially hate her constant negative attitude towards scientists in general. Because you know, only losers would read books and create armour with energy shielding for soldiers to survive in combat with a vast, superior race of aliens. Pfft, what losers. Also she's female.
Pretty much this, though of course the new recruits trying to make a pass at her only feeds her ego.

That's called a Ego, shes like that simply because shes feels to be greater then everyone because shes a Spartan, not because shes a though female...
To be perfectly frank, the scientists do make life tougher for the Spartans on the ground during an op so it totally makes sense why some of the Spartans could look negatively on them. In the long-term science pays off, but I think Palmer's most immediate concern is always to bring her fireteams home safe.

The dynamic isn't pulled off nearly as well as it is in XCOM though. Central Officer Bradford, Dr. Valen, and Dr. Shen just played their roles so well in that game. There weren't a ton of extraneous characters constantly yelling in your ear (except during escort missions) - most of the time they told you what they wanted you to do and/or made a bit of commentary while keeping crosstalk at a minimum during actual operations. After the missions they argued with each other and expressed their concerns about the direction of the project and we were able to get a good grasp on their personality.

I agree the humor has mostly seemed forced. In the XCOM community, people joke that you should do the opposite of what Bradford tells you since his command decisions are generally terrible. The developers there didn't make Bradford out to be a bumbling idiot, he's just a hilariously bad commander.
" You can sort of excuse Roland a bit because he is an AI " ... NOT
actually he is the worst part of this new attempt at humor.
Roland is just obnoxious with an annoying attitude and voice
nothing like Cortana, now she was smooth :)

I have this strange suspicion that if Palmer were a man we wouldn't hear this many complaints about how "tough" the character acts. As for the humor it doesn't bother me at all. It's not laugh out loud hysterical but it's not atrocious either. Also, I love Bill & Ted -_-
No. I was regularly annoyed at Del Rio's character for the same reason. Except he was fully justified for his actions at times.

Although it wasn't as bad as the admiral in Black Ops 2. Man I hated that guy. He seriously had no character!

c.) You're telling me you'd rather have strong men jammed in your face?
ewwww.... just say no to 'Man jam'

"Majestic" thats the only thing I hate about this series, such a stupid name for a fire team. Phonetic or Greek alphabet is just better.
Palmers great dont be sexiest but I do agree she could speak a little more professional I meen " bad guys inbound crimson" could of beeb written better n less corny n childish :/
Man, the Palmer hate is strong. She is not even in this episode and half of the posts here are complaining about her.
I don't care if they do that. As long as they don't put that much humor to future Halo Campaigns.
Yea but all they are doing is trying to keep the little kids entertained by playing, shooting and giggling cause they said badguys.
The things I don't like about Palmer is that the character seems to be trying a bit too hard. Maybe it's the way she's written, or the way the voice actor portrayed her, but I find her annoying. She's arrogant, disrespectful, and displays poor qualities as a leader.

She's a terrible leader, and why does she bother to put on all of her armor when she never once leaves the ship.

You cant honestly expect content that is already made to be changed do you?
Yes.
Too bad. Content already on disk cant be changed. Deal with it.

Del Rio is an insufferable puss. He acts like he doesnt deserve to be questioned when he makes one rash and terrible decision after another. There is a damn good reason he isnt the CO on Infinity any more. Its because he utterly incompetent at leading anything that isnt in his pants.

I'm just tired of 343 especially sticking in Female commanders with these big balls who orders everyone and uses the same overused phrase every god damn minute.

Get over the need to jam annoying women in our faces with an attempt to give them equality. Just because you have two or three outspoken females at your company, doesn't mean we need that jammed into the game.
I agree with this statement sooooooooooooo much! I didn't like a lot of forward unto dawn because of it. It just doesn't seem right. I'm not sexist, this is just what I think.
Crimson!

CRIMSON!

Go flip that switch Crimson! Then head towards the waypoint that conveniently leads you into a Promethean ambush.

Where did those Prometheans come from? Take em out Crimson!

My only complaint..

"Bad guys"

Say forerunner enemy,covies, or something..
Ditto - alittle funny here and there doesn't hurt- everyone has their own opinion on whats too much- personally I most of it- but every once in awhile tone it down alittle. just my opinion but spartan ops is almost the only thing keeping my playing at the moment. Please don't turn it into COD with Spartans... oh wait.
343 is trying to follow bungies footsteps by being funny in some situations but they have to accept that they are not that funny.
but i still get some laughs from roland sometimes

captain price, best leader ever
I'll be the evil male chauvinist.

All the Spartans should be men.

All the AI should be women?

Why? Because men are faster, stronger, more aggressive, and more durable than women. Could you genetically alter women to be increase these traits? Sure, but starting with the gender that already has an advantage in the traits you're looking for in a super soldier makes more sense.

The AI's should be women, because women's voices carry better in a crisis, and there is no benefit counter benefit to creating male AI.

Palmer is grating because she's not believable, female Spartan's break immersion in general. Having to interact with one constantly just makes it worse.
