- Same maps people vote for over and over again
- Lag
- Giant hit boxes makes Call of Duty look good
- Boring weapons
- Useless armour abilities
- Too many power weapons
- No weapon customisation

343i would only need to fix the lag, hit boxes and give us more interesting maps. Once I git my first specialisation I may not return to this apart from custom games with friends. Sadly I will be ordering Black Ops 2.
I don't understand all these people on the forums, talking about how bad the game is and why nobody plays. It's a game! Play if you want, don't if you don't. I really is that simple...

For me, I am having a blast playing Halo 4. But I guess I am not a hardcore gamer, whatever that is...
Quote:
Many players are capped and stopped playing till they can level again.
Many players are adults that only play prime time weekends
Many players are kids who have parents to only allow short playtimes
Many players are busy because its Christmas in 11 days
Many players are bored with the current maps/rotation
Many players are crap and dont want to get better so give up

And last but not least;

Many players only went online with the free 14 day trial and are to cheap to buy gold.

I think that about covers it.
I cant find an easy way to post the image however if you take the graph and highlight every fri/sat/sun. As well as look at post xmas dates, and post viging tourney dates, you will notice your post is flawed.

Weekend pop highs are barely different than weekly highs also, the pop highs drop well before two weeks after launch, and to top it all off, between xmas and virgin gamimg tourn (mostly xmas) the pop high has only rose by about 50k and even that looks to be dropping.

Check your facts brah.
all I know is when I put in blops2 it has 4x as many ppl playing

Someone who either cares more about the franchise than you, plays more than/ is more skilled than you, gets more enjoyment out of the sucess of the game than you or a combination of these.
You know Cod never appealed to me. I saw cutscenes and gameplay footage over youtube and it doesn't interest me in the slightest. So yesterday I downloaded a demo of black ops and man it felt like I was playing something from the mid 90's; kind of like Half Life except the half life campaign was awesome. Putting a few rounds into a guy for a kill, headshots not required, makes me appreciate the time I spent playing halo even more. Good games are hard to come by.
because it unbalanced and random.
the peak population is at 31% of its max and still declining. including xmas sales.

You also neglected to mention it's 40% peak jump since Christmas day. It's ok though, everyone who sees your posts knows you have an agenda.

Oh, and I consider this post of mine from another thread relevant to the discussion and actual popularity of Halo 3:

It's sad how Halo 3's population was sporting over 250K players online shortly before Reach three years after its release while this game has already lost significant amounts of popularity among gamers less than a month later.

The numbers don't lie; what you remember about the Halo 3 player counts is wrong. Those times when Halo 3 had over 200,000 players online were rare occasions. Good luck trying to find a reliable source that shows a day, over one year into Halo 3's lifespan, when Halo 3 would have had over 200,000 players.

I used to use that population argument back in the days when Reach was released. But a matter of fact is, I got introduced to the cruel reality, the reality that Halo 3, in fact, didn't have an exceptional amount of active players over a year after its release. Not compared to Reach or 4.
This is pure gold, thank you. People always think of their older games like they were the best thing since sliced bread. In reality, our expectations have grown as more great games have been released. Games like Bioshock, Mass Effect 3, Portal 2, and Skyrim are all great examples of future classics that really raised the bar as far as quality goes. In actuality, games are far better now than ever before. Take off the nostalgia glasses and you will find a lot of your beloved classics were not as flawless as you might think.

I INCLUDED XMAS SALES. with out xmas sales the peak population is at around 19%
Mabey because unlike COD, Halo (especialy precision weapons) require skill to get kills with and there are so many n00bs that can hardly hit people with an assult rifle and suck so bad that they give up and go play an easy game. The needing skill part of halo is what makes it great.
Also many got the game because of the amazing hype 343 was able to produce and then got bored.
I don't know about the specialization code thing playing a huge factor. Only about 60% of players have even made it passed SR20. So getting passed SR70 could maybe be like, less than 3%.

For me, I think the 14 day trial had a big factor, and the fact that this IS shooter season 2013. So there are a lot of other games to play that were released at that time.

Me personally, I'm just getting bored with it really quickly. I didn't need all of these extra commendations and armors and weapons and perks and challenges and whathaveyou in Halo 3. I just had fun.

22.3% from the absolute lowest day.

32.7% for yesterday.

Either way, last estimate I heard was also a 60% decline for CoD peak population from it's first few day run. APPARENTLY, this is part of a normal gaming cycle when people have many choices.

Yep, I agree. Although, I played Bioshock long after its release, and it still blew me away. So there are a few games that really ARE as amazing as they say.

The trick here is to note if the game that's so amazing is a previous entry in a franchise that they say now sucks.

Like people think Borderlands 1 was the greatest thing ever, and I mean, Borderlands 2 is better in almost every way.
the last couple days i only see 2 or 3 people on my friends list playing H4. there was 60 on opening day and one bought the game 3 weeks ago and quit already.
If they want this game to gain population, and reach top population marks, they have to patch it over to be more like Halo, and less like Call of Duty. Truth. Great post. Not saying it's a bad game, it just has to become more like Halo.
Well.

The game is boring and imbalanced in an uninteresting way as a result of custom classes. DMR/Camo/Boltshot namely, it doesn't take skill nor is it fun, it's actually just frustrating.

Objective modes have changed for the sake of change, and are worse than previous game.

Campaign/Spartan Ops isn't going to keep me playing the game for any notable amount of time. I have tons of single player experiences that are far better than Spartan Ops.

It's really as simple as that. Hey I just played it, and it was crazy; your game sucks, fix it maybe?

thanks. as you see COD is doing better. a difference that gives cod 100,000 more people is very large.

if you subtract the population growth for xmas and asume the population followed its path. the peak pop would be at 19%. just so we are on the same page here and you dont try and twist my words.
