Noble team proper armor, according to role.

OP Delrin7182

Unpopular opinion, half of Noble team is spot on with their armor in conjunction with their roles, and the other half is just made to look cool. Let me explain myself.
Carter, Jorge, and Jun are all great.
Kat, Emile, and Noble six (regarding the standard mkV B) are not.

Carter is the commander and most stereotypical soldier of the company, and the commando armor permutations fit him and his role perfectly.

Jorge is the heavy weapons of the group, and his grenadier armor was designed perfectly for this role. Also, he's a Spartan II, unlike the rest of Noble team, and grenadier armor was originally a mk 4 armor design, so it fits him being the oldest Spartan and wearing the oldest armor.

Jun is the sniper and reconnaissance. I shouldn't have to explain why his scout armor fits him.

Kat is the techy, the intelligence, the "egghead" of the group. Rather than using air assault, which is meant more towards airborne and heavy drop operatives, I feel the Operator armor would fit her role much better as the 'pro elite hacker' she is.

Emile is the close quarters combat specialist, yet he uses a helmet designed for space operations. I believe the cqc/cqb armor systems would fit him much more, with Eod coming in a close second. However, I do understand this would take away from his badass appearance, which is ultimately what was intended.

Noble six is a tricky one. I get the mk 5b is experimental, and six is the mysterious dark character. I believe however that with his background of an elite fighter pilot and assassin, either recon or pilot armor would compliment his skills much more than a helmet made around experimental shield tech.

I will now receive all criticism, thank you
I think the EVA suits Emile, as the increased field of view and peripheral vision would be invaluable in a CQB situation.

I agree with Kat, though. I never found that the Air Assault fits her, and I feel it was chosen because its soft features and design are more feminine, especially when contrasted to a helmet like Carters.

6 is a different story, though. He's a blank slate for the character to design however they want. I always went with pure Mk. V B with the Mk VI helmet and a gold visor, all black armor. I found it gave him a very serious, elite and lone wolf look that I quite enjoyed.

Operator armor isn't a "pro hacker" armor. its a special forces armor set, created for asymmetrical combat and special operations.

as for what armor act fits her role, none of the ones we get in reach. none of the armors we get in reach were made for a technician role. armors like that weren't created until much later with the gen-2 platform's engineer and technician armor sets.
Awesome topic. Whenever I customise my Spartan in game, I always do it based on the role I (the Spartan) try to fulfill, not because the armour piece looks cool (that comes after). Especially in Reach, I also try not to use the same armour as the other members of Noble, so seeing them wearing armour that doesn’t suit their role makes it difficult.
As previously mentioned, Operator isn’t really a ‘Techy’ role helmet, however, it is used for asymmetrical warfare, which could include electronic, i.e. ‘Techy’ and is at least the most appropriate from the choices available
I never thought about the role-specific armor sets.

I wonder how my Noble-6's blue flaming helmet fits in...
