Comments: Arctosrus' allegiance to the Swords of Sanghelios is an interesting one, especially due to how his species considers the Sangheili as mortal enemies, Arctosrus feels like this is a feud that is pointless, especially how his species had been lied to about the Great Journey as well. The only reason he even serves in the Fleet of Enlightened Blades is due to Arctosrus being saved from the Flood during the Fall of High Charity by Thon 'Shallon. While he was originally meant as a prisoner to gain information from, when Arctosrus heard the Monitor of Installation 04, 343 Guilty Spark, reveal the truth about the Halos to the Sangheili, Arctosrus declared that he will help the Arbiter and the UNSC bring down the Covenant. Interesting story, and while it stands out because it's a Brute, this thread is dedicated to your Spartan. I like your idea, but the place... isn't right.
This post is irrelevant IF there are already posts that talk about the story of a OC that is not a Spartan.
Other than that, great job.
EDIT: This post is indeed irrelevant.
I thought a few people had Elites on here. (May be wrong)
Aye, people have done Elites here, they even made a template to assist with people who want to make up Elites. I wanted to try something different and since there isn't really a place for Brutes, I put it here
I feel that Brutes are a bit underappreciated. Their most notable characters are true beasts like Atriox, Thrallslayer (The Chieftain from Halo Wars), Tartarus and Decimus.
yeah they kinda are, brutes more mainly used as disposable units by the covenant like a bigger version of the grunts. wish you could play as them in future halo games. maybe you could customize them too.
I think that can't happen because imagine them attempting to drive a mongoose XD. Or a Wasp. My point is that, the Elites are able to use everything a Spartan can. Like in Halo 3 and Reach. Brutes on the other hand are... larger and wouldn't be able to use everything.
yeah good point they probably wouldn't be able to function with what was available. maybe you can only play as them via exclusive game modes or somethin?
Maybe there could be a gamemode similiar to one in Left 4 Dead where there's four players playing as the survivors and more players playing as the special infected. My point is to allow teams in a Campaign Versus mode, Red for the good guys, Blue for the bad guys, kinda like Reach Firefight.
that would be so awesome!!
Well, as great of a discussion as this is, I think we've gotten off topic of what this forum is meant for

yeah good point apologies.
Let's get back on topic again now. Reminder that in future anything offtopic can and should go to PM :)
Name: Fal 'Shallon
Faction: Heirs of the Warrior-Servants
Unit:
Specialisation: Supreme Leader, High Techno Priest
Current location: Unknown
Gender: M
Birthplace: Shallon Keep, State of Vadam
Performance: The son, albeit, unknowingly, of Thon 'Shallon, Fal was noted to be an aggressive Elite during his service to the Covenant, burning civilian settlements without remorse. When his species had aligned themselves with the UNSC, he expressed his distrust of them, believing they would bring ruin to their species unless wiped out. Due to the nature of the Covenant Remnant he leads, his body has been enhanced with technology from a Forerunner site he had found in unexplored regions of the Milky Way after he left Requiem and broke away from Jul 'Mdama's Covenant.
Comments: Fal's enhancements were designed to counter the UNSC's Spartans, giving him enhanced strength, speed and reaction time. The full nature of the enhancements is not completely known but are technological in nature. Even without these enhancements, he was a warrior who, as said earlier, killed with no remorse, leaving a long trail of blood to get what he wants.
NOTES: Fal's Remnant Faction believes that for the Sangheili to survive, they need to become one with technology. As well as this, Fal's time on Requiem, before starting the faction as a splinter group of Jul 'Mdama's Covenant, led him to believe that the Promethean Constructs that they encountered were the true form of the Forerunners, ultimately wishing to become like the Prometheans.
Choice of Equipment: Fal carries a Forerunner Light Rifle, which he uses mainly to pick off targets at range, and a Scattershot into combat. In addition to this, his right arm has a hardlight blade built into it that he uses for melee combat and an energy sword as a back up if his arm is damaged
Previous engagements: Great Schism, First Battle of Requiem
Notable Relations: Thon 'Shallon (Father, sees as Uncle), Cel 'Shallon (Sister in Law), Vell 'Shallon (Adopted brother)
Ugh, I love this forum!
Name: Aleksandr Ivanov
Service Number: E316 ((55132-22579-68))
Unit: Various, notable instances include, but are not limited to: Colony of Reach 38th Militia Company; Beta-5 Asymmetrical Action Group (briefly); Fireteam Crimson; Currently assigned to Fireteam Stormfist
Military Specialization(s): Urban Counterinsurgency, Guerilla Warfare, Long-Range Threat Neutralization (aka Sniping)
Enlistment Date: CLASSIFIED/UNKNOWN
Location: Currently aboard the UNSC Infinity
Gender: Male
Birthplace: Voi, Reach (Further information currently unavailable)
Birthdate: July 19, 2537
Performance: Invariably lethal, though CQC requires improvement
Comments: "You are one stubborn SOB, you know that?" -Commander Sarah Palmer
"Would that you were born a Sangheili, that you may father many fine sons for the glory of our race--your methods are strange, but your heart is unmistakably a warrior's." -Commander Set Dre'mor, of the Swords of Sanghelios
"Stubborn fool." -The Gravemind
Notes: Aleksandr Ivanov--Sasha to his friends--is no stranger to war. His father, Lieutenant Ivan Chekhov of the UNSC Spirit of Fire was a good man, if a bit hard on his son. It came from a desire to see his son succeed--his wish was that young Aleksandr would follow in his footsteps at the Corbulo Academy of Military Science. Instead, young Alek did the opposite--Joined the Colonial Militia for the sole purpose of "looking cool for the ladies. Nice uniform, no risk of deployment--and who's gonna be dumb enough to attack Reach?"

That all changed when Reach was attacked.

At first, the reports were met with shock, disbelief--then came the call to arms. Aleksandr fought with a fierceness that surprised him--he quickly established his proficiency at long-range engagements. The DMR was a godsend for him; and with it he survived more battles than he could count.

His lazy personality was slowly eroded, a fact made all the quicker when one of the missions he found himself on included a black-armored Spartan-III. Going by the designation of Noble Six, rank of Lieutenant, the man was an unstoppable force of nature; a god of death. Through sheer luck, Aleksandr managed to stay by the Spartan through several engagements, once having his life saved personally by Noble Six.
As the months went by, Reach's imminent fall became apparent--the order to evacuate was given. Aleksandr watched in helpless horror as millions were slaughtered; civilian and soldier alike.
The militiaman didn't manage to catch off-world transport until the very end; a desperate stand-off at a landing pad waiting for Pelicans from the Pillar of Autumn to arrive. He saw a Spartan die that day, a man with a skull carved onto his helmet. He watched Lieutenant Noble Six stay behind, the man who had become his personal hero--and he swore to become a soldier worthy of that man.
Aleksandr was brought aboard the Pillar of Autumn and conscripted into the Marines by Captain Jacob Keyes, earning the rank of Private First Class for distinguished action.
Fate was not kind to our newly appointed Marine, however, as the Pillar of Autumn crashed on a strange ringworld. The chaos that ensued was devastating, the Flood were discovered, and Aleksandr was separated from all friendly contacts.
Time was spent seeking off-world transport, day and night were meaningless. Eventually, he found a Pelican being repaired by a female mechanic and assisted her efforts; the two managed to escape Halo just before it exploded. From there, the two were picked up by the UNSC destroyer Memory of Harvest; and were taken to Earth while being debriefed by onboard ONI personnel.
Once again, Aleksandr was thrust head-first into combat as first the Covenant and then the Flood invaded Earth. He fought alongside such legends as Sergeant Major Avery Junior Johnson, Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck, Gunnery Sergeant Pete Stacker, Private Chips Dubbo, and of course, Master Chief Petty Officer John-117.
After the events of the Covenant/Flood invasion of Earth (read: Halo 2) Aleksandr was reassigned to an ODST unit headed for New Mombasa. His pod was knocked off-course and he was presumed dead, forced to fight his way through the city throughout the night; seeking his squad and ultimately extraction.
Aleksandr was relieved when the Human-Covenant war ended, though seeing all that he had changed him from a shallow youth to a hardened, taciturn man. He was one of the few who disbelieved the Master Chief's death, saying this on the matter: "Men like that, they aren't mortal anymore. They're something greater--and legends never die."
Shortly thereafter, the ONI agents who had provided the initial debriefing following the incident of Delta Halo approached now-Corporal Ivanov with a job offer--join the Spartan-IV program. Aleksandr accepted without hesitation, and was offered a promotion to Lieutenant, Junior Grade upon successful completion.
Aleksandr survived the augmentation process, and excelled in all areas regarding guerilla tactics, long-range combat, and survival scenarios. His CQC skills were deemed adequate, though not exceptional, and he was immediately assigned to the Beta-5 Asymmetrical Action Group for reasons unknown. Eventually, the now-Spartan secured a promotion to Lieutenant through meritorious actions, and was reassigned to Spartan Fireteam Crimson.
Here he remains, though the recent actions of the Created have caused him to question if humanity will ever know peace.
Weapons of Choice: Standard Loadout includes a DMR or Battle Rifle, a Magnum, and an Auto-Medic Armor mod. Armor is chosen appropriate to mission parameters.
UNSC Tenure: Five years.
Notable Commendations: Various Purple Hearts, the Colonial Cross, one Silver Cluster, the Bronze Star, Red Legion of Merit, Soldier's Medal
Letters of Recommendation: Captain Jacob Keyes, upon reviewing the battle-footage captured by then-Private Ivanov from Reach: "Tough -Yoink-, a lot better than he looks. Definitely a survivor."
Commander Sarah Palmer, date unknown: "He doesn't know when to quit--or how to quit, for that matter. Wish all jarheads were like him."
Additional Notes: Aleksandr is a man of few words, and has been submitted for psych eval numerous times--each time passing effortlessly. He doesn't make friends easily, and tends to have a grimly fatalistic and brooding demeanor. However, he shows great care for anyone he is assigned to/with, often placing others' safety far above his own. He tends to take losing anyone very hard, and is rumored to have survivor's guilt. He shows a great deal of both respect and hatred for the Sangheili, although a few notable exceptions exist.

The Lieutenant is rumored to have a female lover among the Spartan-IVs, though who is unknown; and Aleksandr refuses to comment on the matter.

A sure way to upset him is to bring up his mother; as she more than likely died on Reach; and Aleksandr seems to feel as though he abandoned her.

No further information available at this time.
You guys don't mind if I "borrow" some of these backstories right? :)

But seriously, I'm really struggling with a character idea for another game and a lot of these are great.
Name: Julio.

Service #: J-089.

Unit: The Black Ravens (actual), Marine UNSC Corps, ODST Helljumper.

Primary Military Specialization: UNSC Marine Corps.

Enlistment Date: 08/11/2542.

Location: [Redacted].

Gender: Male.

Birthplace: México, México City.

Birth Date: 05/06/2524.

Performance: He fought side by side with Master Chief on Earth in New Mombasa.

Comments: Intuitive soldier who puts ahead the well-being of others on his own; excellent sniper, talkative, introverted and quiet. He likes to put music when he uses his sniper because it helps him to concentrate and thus achieve to finish his objectives with facility. He sometimes has problems with his superiors for disobeying direct orders, which in many cases has proved useful for the missions to have a successful outcome.

NOTES: His career as a Marine lasted a few years until he enlisted in the specialized group of the ODST jumping always with his feet in front. He participated in covert missions to enforce the Cole Protocol as well as fought in the battles of the Earth and then in the Requiem campaign in support of the Spartans IV. He enlisted as an ONI special force and achieved high-value targets such as Spartan-IV.

Spartan's choice of equipment: [Top Secret].

Some of your Spartans previous engagements: [Redacted].

Current Operation: [Top Secret].

Notable Relations: Recruited by Jun S-A266 after an operation in [redacted].

Service Commendations: After the battle on earth and promoted to Sergeant within the ODST, his Bravo-3 platoon was assigned to the Infinity and then to the Requien campaign against the Jul 'Mdama Covenant. After surviving a skirmish in which there are records of mass casualties by ODST and the Marines, Jun S-A266 personally recruited the Sergeant to participate in the Spartan-IV program. Subsequently, ONI requested its services for high-risk missions classified as Top Secret.

UNSC Tenure/Years of active duty: Five years in the Marine Corps, ten in the Helljumper unit Bravo-3 and one in service like a Spartan-IV in The Black Ravens.

Letters of recommendation from previous commanders: Most of the letters of recommendation were confiscated by the ONI.

But seriously, I'm really struggling with a character idea for another game and a lot of these are great.
Taking inspiration from other's characters is a great form of flattery! I don't think anyone would be upset, Unless you claimed their entire character as yours and tried to pass it off as such. But taking parts from others creations and blending it together to make your own character is a great way to start, Just be sure to throw a little bit of your own personal touch to it. You don't want it ending up like a Frankenstein of everyone elses stuff. But yeah dude! I'd say go for it, As long as you give credit to the owners for the inspiration!
