Who are you favorites in the halo lore? And why?

OP W h i s Ik e y

One of mine would have to be Buck. Odsts have always been my favorite. And the smart mouth wisecracking makes it even better. I'm glad they brought him into a Spartan roll.

Another would have to be Jonah-B283 headhunter.
It was a way darker take on Spartans and his character was done scary and amazing.

The lore is filled with just so many examples of fantastic characters and many don't get the attention they deserve. Many are now historical after notes in the current Halo timeline, which is sad (e.g. Hector Nyeto - fantastic character, same with many from Halo Broken Circle).

Quite a fan of Veta Lopis: good mix of UNSC and Insurrectionist sympathies and a character with a good depth and intriguing arc. Also kinda hope she doesn't end up as a Spartan, but would like to see her Ferret team referenced in the games somehow.
Rtas 'Vadum, I like his appearances in H2 and H3, I also read some of his books, I would love that there was a kind of DLC to an alternative story in a videogame where he tells us more about him
I’d say Halsey for me....she’s just so interesting and the novels really evolve her character. She’s just so cool..
Chakas/343 Guilty Spark/Spark.

100,000 years of solitude drove him mad and after the monitor shell was damaged. I never expected that Chakas would return as the dominant personality before essentially coming to terms with what he did and taking the new name Spark. In the end his end goal was to find life long friends and he finally found them, but as an ancilla. He is destined to outlive humans who are still biological creatures.
mal the russan ODST
halairious
and well russan
Offensive Bias... a Forerunner AI who held off the flood long enough to achieve a pyrrhic victory for the galaxy and then turned the tables for a complete victory over Mendicant Bias shortly after the Halo array firing.

Even if it's a short story, I want an account from a Forerunner commander's perspective who served under OB holding the line against the Flood just prior to the Halo firing. Maybe something like a memoir of events leading up to that point and his last thoughts just before the Halo firing.
Forge, Noble Six, Thel 'Lodamee are my top three in that order.
Dr. Catherine Halsey is one of my top choices because of her genius. She built upon the foundation of the ORION I program and created, not knowing this at the time, humanity’s only hope for survival. Her intellect and personality are so interesting to me, and I love finding out why she did what she did. Another choice is Noble Six. He is the only other Spartan labeled HYPER-LETHAL. I feel that’s overlooked. He is extremely proficient at what he does. I feel he doesn’t get enough credit. He had a big of a role in the war as MC. He delivered Cortana to the Pillar of Autumn which lead to the events of Halo and eventually humanity’s victory. And he helped escort Buck off Reach in New Alexandria. And he is one bad mf. It took like 10 highly trained Elites at once to finally take him down. Another choice is Mendicant Bias. I love his story of being the most advanced ancilla ever created by the Forerunners and still managed to be turned against his creators. Then after the Halo Array fired, he realized his wrong doings and went off to help humanity and pay his debt for what he did. Such a big and interesting concept, how even the best of us can fall. A lot like the Dark Knight and Harvey Dent.
