Unable to join?

Whenever I try to play with friends, one of us gets an error that says Unable to Join and gets kicked back to the main menu. I've looked around and Im not the only one with this problem, has anyone found a fix?

This just started happening with my son and I. We both are using Xboxes from the same household and have had no problems up to this point. We both have open NATs and can join games separately from each other.

I had some success fixing it by everyone in the party playing a game by themselves, then when you group up again set your matchmaking preferences to focused. Not really a fix but I hope it helps.

Just like to point out that the “fix” above does work. Have the folks join separate games one time and then join up after.
