Yeah I couldn't find it either, so yeah it's not your PC it's the game/windows update.

Uninstalling the two updates that are optional and leaving the security update installed will let you play the game normally.Yui907 wrote:Same issue as described by the players above.snickerdoodle wrote:For those of you that are encountering this issue, we encourage you to submit a ticket on Halo Support. How? The link provided only gives the option for MCC and Reach:stckrboy wrote:Jsazzy, KJ McMaster, Yui907 and Brandbjorn1823 - per Sam's request on the previous page, can you file a ticket on the Halo Support site and add that information there? Thanks. It wasn't intended for people to post their details here
Yeah, that's correct.RespectedMan721 wrote:on my thread reporting this same problem, one replier said that they did not have this problem when they were playing on an xbox controller and were able to issue capture/attack commands without a problem, only when they were on mouse + keyboard did they see this problem.

I'm doing this and delaying reinstalling the optional updates for 7 days, they'll have a fix by then.
I know it only lists those games, but you can still report the issue anyway and it will be forwarded to the correct teamYui907 wrote:How? The link provided only gives the option for MCC and Reach:

There is no facility for reporting Halo Wars 2 issues there.
Thanks! Yeah it works for some reason, I don't know why it works with controller and not mouse.Blackandfan wrote:just a headsup for anyone with a controller, you can bypass the crash while using a controller
Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to try and fix that bug. :)snickerdoodle wrote:Happy Thursday, y'all! Stopping by with an update from the studio this morning -
Our test team was able to successfully repro the issue in-house and we believe we're on the right track with narrowing down where the issue lies. We don't have an ETA on a fix but this is still being actively looked at. Also, if anyone was curious, this does not seem to be impacting Halo Wars: Definitive Edition so in the meantime, if you find yourself with an overwhelming desire to herd all units, get back to your roots! :)
This is interesting and I'll pass it on to the team as a heads up.Blackandfan wrote:just a headsup for anyone with a controller, you can bypass the crash while using a controller
Wonderful news! Thanks for keeping us up to date! Will fire up HW DE in the meantime.snickerdoodle wrote:Happy Thursday, y'all! Stopping by with an update from the studio this morning -
