[Locked] Mcc on pc, mod support for just halo reach

OP killzone649322

I know there will be lots of people asking for mod support but asking for mod support for 5 different games all using variations and iterations of the same engine is a little rediculous, i propose adding mod support at a similar level as was supplied to halo custom edition using the same toolkit that bungie used to build halo reach

A little history lession, gearbox when porting the pc version of halo CE used bungies dev tools and stripped them of any features that would allow users to go past the bounds of the existing engine. They then released these modified tools to the public with little documentation and left it to the community to learn. The community took to the tools and built a massive amount of mods over the past 10 years generating a large community over on halomaps.org, however while this community has died off over the years we still have a small but dedicated group of modders who would love to have access to the later version of blam! (Internal nickname for the halo engine)

A modding toolkit can be sold as an expansion for reach within mcc. Hardcore content creators can build within this editing kit and then once the map is verified playable can upload the finished map file to the mcc server for public play. The wonderful thing about halo games prior to halo 4 is that majority of the files that the map used are contained within the .map file container. This means that custom maps and content can be easily shared within the community and can be pushed to all versions of the mcc including consoles. This means the whole halo community reaps the benefits of mods increasing replayability

The existing pc community has a deep knowledge of the blam engine and welcomes the mcc to pc hopefully this is an idea that will be considered for the future.

Or just allow players to create their own modding tool for Non-matchmaking only.
