I miss the old beginning sound

Halo 3's soundtrack was the best in the series and will never be topped. It was an amazing mix of Halo 1, 2 and new tracks from 3.

Best track in any video game ever made.
Halo 4's main menu songs wouldn't be so grinding on the nerves if they weren't so loud.

Halo's 1-3 Gregorian Chant was the best one ever and should have been the one used for Halo 4. It was tradition
Although I miss the old, the new soundtrack is actually really good. I only wish that Halo 4's startup screen consisted purely of the three menu songs without the woman's choir. IMO it's too high pitched and doesn't strike as much emotion as the other three songs of H4's menu. At least the other three are heard throughout the game, unlike the vocals.

I would prefer if the menu songs were in the following order:
Wreckage
Green and Blue
Atonement (Second Half)

I really miss a similar song as the startup song from Halo 3 at the main menu in Halo 4. It is just different in Halo 4 than the older Halo's...

Who agrees?

I don't think this is a legitimate halo 4 thread -_- this belongs in the halo 3 section.
Do you hate everything that isn't pro-Halo 4? This is a complaint about how Halo 4's starting music isn't as good, or the same, as all the other Halos. It's better to post this here than in every other Halo forum.
i cant stand the deaf chick yodeling in the start of halo 4....it actually makes me play the game less because i hate it so much.

whos idea was that and who oked it for sale?
It depends, I'm not to big of a fan on the chick, but apart from ODST's menu theme, Wreckage is my favorite menu theme so far

imo, the very best of Marty.
This thread about Halo 4's startup music was moved to general discussion? The thought process of whoever did this eludes me.

Halos 1-3 monks singing

Halo 4 girl screeching

If anyone tells me they like listening to Halo 4 start up I automatically assume they're lying.
I like it. (no lie) The first time I slapped Halo 4 in the disk tray and heard the menu music I got chills. I still get chills in the main menu at some parts.

That's exactly the part of the main menu music I was talking about in my last post that gave me chills! I love just sitting there and listening to this and the chills just roll down my body and I'm like, *close eyes* *embrace amazing music*

Everyone is now talking about songs from every other Halo game.

ODST wins
The entire Soundtrack of ODST beats all soundtracks, without a doubt.
Hold one, Hold one.

a piano, the sound of rain and a Sax aren't going to beat the Halo 2 volumes...

ODST was brilliant. I just think Halo 2 was better. It was done like it was a movie but the music always played at the right time with the right theme. And every level had it's own theme.

One of my all time favorite tracks from halo ever is road to voi, love that piece of music with a passion.
I enjoy what Neil has done with the soundtrack in Halo 4... but that opening song with the eeeEEEEeeoooAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaeeeeooOOO needs to die in a fire!
Should have left it with the monks man.
I miss old Halo in general, but yes, I agree the Halo 4 menu music could be far better.
As far as style is concerned, I personally prefer the Reach menu the most. Has nothing to do with the games themselves, purely the music style involved in the opening menu. I still listen to it on youtube in a loop from time to time.

Halo 1,2,3, and 4 are all more or less the same to me emotionally because I have no nostalgia attached to Halo 1-3 whatsoever. I like them equally for different reasons. I agree the vocals in Halo 4 are a bit loud compared to the music itself, but that's just a small gripe.

The rock in Halo 2 ruined it
IMO I think that for Halo 5 they should have the original theme but in Halo 4's style.
I don't mind the startup song at all compared to when you get into the War Games lobby which is much more irritating especially the first few beats.
Well I personally liked the Halo 4 intro. To me it felt more like a tragic tone or just a sense of loss that went well with the whole story around Halo 4.
