The suit thing is fine, it is one of those widely seen eyesores in the lore with suit being almost magically "upgraded" to gen2 model while stranded in space away from human civilization, let alone military areas planning the gen2 SPARTAN armor.

Though what bothered me, equally from the beginning of 343i career, is that humans & forerunners got separated as species in the lore, though if that was changed now it would take away the base from basically everything that happened during or after H4.
humans being forerunners just created more interesting backstory between humanity, flood & remaining forerunner machinery with the viewpoint of this corrupted precursor mass being about in the lines of humanity destroying it's kin wholly & having to witness their new rise after what could be called poetic justice, humans being the creators of their own destruction. the whole precursor slaying thing leading to flood which led to ultimate choice of destroying every sentient being to stop the flood.
And it was basically told by oldest beings in Halo lore that humans are the forerunners, in the very first games no less. In addition of the convenience of only humans, out of all living beings in the universe, being able to activate forerunner technology.
And maybe the portal to Ark being located in the homeplanet of humans also indicates some form of relation between the 2, a portal to very place that activates every piece of most ultimate weapon known in Halo lore.
If nothing else, it was the difference that humans weren't just these beings after ultimate good in every case but that they too had their dark side with their greed for power which ultimately led to their own destruction & the rebirth of humanity had various moral sides depending on the perspective, that background had more gray areas when compared to ancient humanity being the types who apparently didn't know how to radio to forerunners because apparently forerunners didn't have any uninfected space- stations at least outside of planet surface nor humanity had scout ships to send messengers with to, you know, prevent unnecessary galaxy wide war that weakened both forces for flood.
In both cases the flood turns out to be the strong victorious but other makes humanity look incapable due to lack of strenght when compared to flood while in other scenario they look incompetent for such an advanced species while filmography seemingly tries to paint a noble picture of them.
I kinda miss the implications that humans were forerunners also. Even Guilty Spark finally says it, but now they say it was because he was going rampant.

And the gravemind though I would have viewed it as suspicious source even before all this new ancient lore.
Still, Gravemind seemed to have some rather specific interest towards humanity, Chief at least, but a species being able to remake the scenario that forced 100,000 year dormancy on flood surely justifies those interests by itself.
But thats how it is with ancient lore, it has been rather minimal with it's sources leaving it clouded in mystery, well, before the infodump videos found in H4, which imo, took away from the atmosphere when exploring areas influenced by forerunners.
Well, in addition of changing the whole infrastructure style that is, but thats another story entirely.

But the whole "rampant" thing on Spark just seems as off as the whole nanomachine suit explanation, even though there were occasional ramblings Spark seemed to be aware of its surroundings & still being capable of priorization & perhaps or perhaps not unintentional manipulation.
after 100,000 years of working no less.

This whole thing almost seems like there were no research on source material, unless they really make something out of their decision in Infinite.
But yeah, in any case miss the heavy implications & the mysterious ancient lore.

Cortana's survival. What 343 Industries did with her in Halo 4 took guts, and it led to a climax that stuck with players due to the implications of her death on the Master Chief moving forward. Halo 5: Guardians threw away all of the interesting ideas Halo 4 was setting up, but bringing Cortana back (on top of making her a lamer villain than the Didact) is the biggest slap to the face of them all.
