I never really understood what it was. What is it?
It's a type of hit detection where, instead of actually tracking the bullet/projectile fired from your gun, it's if your reticle is red upon firing, it's a hit.

However, it's only weapon-specific. For instance, the Magnum in CE is a hitscan weapon, whereas the Rocket Launcher isn't.
Put it this way, if a game doesn't have it the bullet has to travel from the gun to the person, if it does have hit scan the bullet hits the person immediately with out any bullet travel time, No hit scan takes a bit more skill and involves leading your shots, so more realistic, tho hitscan works better when laggy.

So Halo CE had hitscan? Is it better than what we had in other Halo's.
