Arbiter showing off his killer instinct moves and wrecking MCHIEF.
Arby would destroy Chief like that indeed
Pull a Jul 'Mdama and just slit his throat in half a second totally killing any hype you may have had for such an epic moment.
Oh lord don't give he-who-shall-not-be-named any ideas...
During Warzone
He choses the synthesis ending and everyone becomes part machine and part organic. Cortana and John can finally be together and live happily ever after.
Getting shot in the head by a single needle rifle shard that would be a really stupid way to go.
Tripping on his gun, causing him to fall off a ledge, into space, almost suffocating, only to fall into a planet and spear his brains on a spikey rock in the middle of the ocean. Wow. I have a -Yoinked!- up mind!
Getting killed by a Crawler minion with a Boltshot in a 20 Warden battle.
Suicide after rejection from Cortana :(
Dying the way Jul Mdama was killed.
Exuberant grows a pair of arms and melee's him and he flies 8000 feet across the map going "neiiighhhh"
Grunt goblin calling him names and then the chief dies from a broken heart
After the war ends, Chief walks into a bar and while he is enjoying his first drink in years a grunt walks in and says "I smell a bad guy." He then sees the Chief and says "Die devil!" and throws a plasma grenade at him. The grenade sticks to the beer bottle, and detonates before Chief can react. The grunt then says "In da face! His boots are mine!." The grunt then dances over Chief's body. The end!
During a warzone exercise, Chief inexplicably spawns inside a solid object, like a boulder on Apex... And is never seen again....
Getting killed by commander Palmer.

*stands over his body.

'You can still destroy the enemy core'
and then bags him
Cortana has drawn millions of Prometheans to the Halo seen at the end of Halo 5. The UNSC Infinity leads all that remains of humanities warships to this Halo in an attempt to eradicate the threat in one great battle, as the Romans would. Throughout, humans die in their thousands as the vastly superior Promethean arsenal backed by Guardians makes short work of the embattled human force. Meanwhile, Blue Team and what's left of Osiris race towards the Halo's control room in a prowler to attempt to use it to destroy the Prometheans; the human fleet being prepared to initiate emergency slipspace jumps on Master Chief's signal.
The prowler gets the Spartans as close to the control room as it can, but not close enough. They proceed to fight their way through wave after wave of promethean forces, more vicious than ever before thanks to the need to stop the Spartans and please Cortana. After who knows how long they finally reach the Control room, where the Warden Eternal is waiting. Only this time, he is luminescent blue. A voice carries across the colossal chamber, but not the Warden's, it's Cortana's. "please don't make me stop you John". 6 more Wardens spawn behind her.
After a firefight that would have made the Lord of Admirals proud, the humans slew all except the Cortana Warden, but with the loss of Locke, Linda and Vale.
Master Chief does his best to reach the controls, sending his battered team to the prowler to escape, and to alert the human fleet as their comms had not survived the battle. 117 approaches the nearly broken form of the Cortana Warden, slumped beside the Halos firing mechanism. He kneels down and watches as the wardens face parts to reveal a teary eyed Cortana. She explains she needed to do what she did, that humanity can't be trusted to ensure its own existence and that of other species. John can't stand seeing her so corrupt and places a hand on her cheek as his other reaches for the Halo control panel. Cortana explains the Halo network is now effectively her neural cortex, and that destroying the Halo would kill them both. John looks to a display panel, waiting for the last of the surviving human ships to leave the system. He looks to Cortana, "looks like my luck has finally run out", to which a single, seemingly solid tear runs down Cortana's cheek. 117 fires the Halo, he, and all those in defence of Cortana and the Halo ring are lost to a brilliant whiteness. All that is left is a colossal gas cloud, destined to form a star and stand as infinite testimony to John 117.
That's a really good idea. But for some reason 343i can't hire ppl as open minded and creative as you.
