With the European HCS Pro League Finals now in the books, all eyes turn now towards Los Angeles, CA as the top four North American teams descend upon the City of Angels to fight for the NA Summer 2016 crown. The Finals on the Novo Theatre main stage won’t be the only Halo esports action going on however, and the next big winner could just be you. Attendees who purchase a VIP pass to the NA HCS Pro League Summer 2016 Finals will automatically gain entrance into the Halo 5 VIP FFA @ LA Live to compete for the lion’s share of a $5,000 prize pool and some Halo A40 headsets from our partners over at Astro Gaming. VIP ticket holders will also get premium seating closer to the action, and exclusive giveaways for both Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31! As you might remember, we recently ran a similar tournament down in Austin, TX – the RTX FFA Open – and it provided an incredible opportunity for hidden talent in the region to showcase their skills against some of the very best, and earn a sweet payoff in the process. Could you be next?


The tournament will start and end on Saturday, July 30, which will allow competitors to watch the finals on Sunday from their premium seating at the Novo Theatre.

Tournament Check-in Time:

  • Saturday, July 30, from 11:00am - 12:00pm (Players must check in by 12PM to compete in the tournament)

Tournament Start Time:

  • Saturday, July 30, from 12:30pm - 10:00pm

FORMAT and rules

  • Heats per round: 2
  • Maps: Truth and Regret
  • Starting loadout: AR/Magnum
  • Time limit: 8 minutes
  • Score to win: Unlimited
  • Players: 6

Players will be scored based on their placement in each of the two heats that they compete in, and after both heats the players with the most points will move on to the next round.

Scoring System:

  • 1st place: 6 points
  • 2nd place: 5 points
  • 3rd place: 4 points
  • 4th place: 3 points
  • 5th place: 2 points
  • 6th place: 1 points


  • First prize: $3,000 + Gaems monitor
  • Second prize: $1,500 + Astro A40 headset
  • Third prize: $500 + Astro A40 headset
  • Fourth - Sixth prizes: Astro A40 headset

Week after week during the European HCS Pro League Summer 2016 Season, the squad from FAB Esports (FABE) proved that they were standard by which European Halo esports should be measured. Finishing the regular season an undefeated 10-0, all focus was turned on finishing their fight in the EU Summer 2016 Finals. Joining FABE in the final four were Team Infused, XMEN, and Vibe – all looking to put together the perfect run it would take to deny FABE a dominant ending to a perfect season.

Today, we’re launching a new Assault Preview playlist that will allow players to get a look at some of the updates that the multiplayer team has been working on. When we launched Assault with the Hammer Storm release back in February, it was received well by players as it was chaotic and a change of pace from Capture the Flag and Strongholds. Over time, we saw some feedback around the feeling of fairness and scoring, and have been working to make updates to improve the mode.
