This past weekend marked the culmination of the Halo World Championship 2017 as OpTic Gaming proved once again that they are the best Halo squad on the planet. Twelve teams from across the world converged on Burbank, CA and delivered some truly incredible series that, thanks to your support, resulted in this being the most watched Halo esports event ever!
From qualifying events across the world to the action-packed finals, we want to extend a huge thank you to the Halo 5 competitive community, our tournament partners, and of course the competitors themselves for their support, passion, and dedication to the Halo World Championship.
There's still a lot of great competitive Halo in store for the rest of 2017, including the return of Pro League and Open Circuit.
We’ll have more details to share next week, including the roadmap for summer and fall, but today we’re excited to announce a new partnership and event coming in May that looks to deliver on three areas of community feedback – an east coast location, an open format, and a great venue.
Save the date and break out the sunscreen because competitive Halo is coming to Daytona Beach, Florida! HCS Daytona by UMG takes over the Ocean Center Arena from May 12-14 and will include a $75,000 4v4 tournament (both open and championship bracket) as well as a $5,000 FFA tournament.
