Into Hell

An account of the events which befell the city of New Mombasa in the wake of the Covenant invasion.

One month after the planet of Reach was razed to smoldering cinders, Earth came face to face with the Covenant. And though much has been written about the war which was waged above in space—where humanity staved off a seemingly endless orbital assault—another story lies below in the rubble that was once the East African Protectorate. It was there, in the carcass of New Mombasa, that a handful of Marines executed a mission to find out what it was that the Covenant were looking for.
