Welcome to the MCC Mod Minute, a focused look at a creative mod for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, with details on how to try it out yourself through Steam Workshop.

Mod Minute returns with orders from the Prophets: hunt down the defenders of Reach with extreme prejudice. 



Today’s mod selection, The Prophets’ Hand, invites MCC players to experience the fall of Reach through the eyes of the Covenant’s most faithful Elite warriors as they enact a legendary campaign to accelerate the planet’s destruction.

From the beginning, you know—well, no, actually just about everything has been rewritten.



The Prophets’ Hand recasts Halo: Reach with a merciless band of Elites in the starring roles. As you navigate each mission of Noble Team’s breathless defense, you’ll get to see how a Covenant suicide squad would work to confound those efforts.

Players storm the doomed planet endowed with a ludicrously packed weapon sandbox, powerhouse custom vehicles, and a divinely appointed equipment set that makes every encounter feel rewarding and unpredictable.



If you’ve ever conceived of a fully automatic Battle Rifle, a chargeable Concussion Rifle that borrows a Hunter’s firepower, or a Needle Shotgun that belches fire, then you’d find yourself right at home in the action-packed arcade of The Prophets’ Hand.

Each encounter boasts throngs of puny but dauntless human enemies, with custom-built color ranks for Spartans, ODSTS, and Marines that instantly convey armor levels or special abilities. Faced with such distinctive foes, you’ll learn to take cover when the “one-shot laser” Spartans arrive.



Ultimately, your greatest tactical advantage is the Elites at your flanks. Your venerable Elite OC shares the limelight with five Sangheili superstars of different but beloved classes (Honor Guard ally, anyone?), each of whom comes toting a unique weapon of devastation that can be nabbed in a pinch whenever you run out of plasma.

As you mow through Reach’s outmatched defenders, your battlefield actions also inspire Covenant regulars to join your squad on the fly and wreak havoc beside you—which is especially appreciated during boss battles with Noble Team’s best and brightest.



(We’re pretty sure Jorge didn’t get diced up by a big Elite with a Jackal shield in the original—but it would be heresy to question the Prophets’ account.)

Requires: <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/1064220/Halo_Reach/">Halo: Reach</a>



Setup: Once you have installed the Halo: Reach campaign add-on through Steam, launch Halo: The Master Chief Collection with the “MCC Anti-Cheat Disabled (Mods and Limited Services)” launch option selected.* Play from the list of “Halo: Reach” options in the “Campaigns” menu.



*If you don’t see this option at launch, you may need to change your “Selected Launch Option” setting. To update this setting, right-click on the entry for Halo: The Master Chief Collection in your Steam Library and navigate to the “Properties” menu, where you will find “Launch Options” settings on the menu’s “General” tab.



We recommend adjusting your “Selected Launch Option” setting to “Ask when starting game.” This will allow you to alternate between the retail build of Halo: The Master Chief Collection (for matchmaking) and the community-mod sandbox every time you play!

Halo: Campaign Evolved

In response to player feedback, we’ve deployed a new update for Halo: Campaign Evolved that features new video settings for Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain, refined combat against Jackals, improved keyboard control binding, and many more quality-of-life fixes!

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Updates and Improvements</h2>



Today’s comprehensive update includes commonly requested video settings, a fix for custom keyboard configurations, updated ally and enemy behavior, and more.



Here are just a few of the more obvious enhancements you should notice after updating:

<li>New togglable video setting: Chromatic Aberration</li>



<li>New togglable video setting: Film Grain</li>



<li>Mouse and keyboard control bindings will now save without reverting.</li>



<li>Players using Active Camo will remain cloaked more consistently.</li>



<li>Jackal hit registration has been improved. Firing through the weapon port of Jackal Shields now consistently causes enemies to stagger.</li>



<li>Mouse and keyboard control performance has been refined on consoles. Firing performance should feel more responsive.</li>



<li>Fixed an issue where UNSC Marines and Flood-infested Marines could not fire Assault Rifles with the Magnified Skull enabled.</li>



<li>Implemented fixes to Sgt. Johnson’s behavior in “Boarding Action” (Mission 1 of Operation: METEORITE) that could prevent mission progression.</li>



<li>Additional stability and performance improvements.</li>
</ul>

<li>Search for and add your friends’ Gamertags to your XBOX friends list online at <a href="https://www.xbox.com">XBOX.com</a>, in the <a href="https://www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/xbox-app-on-mobile">XBOX mobile app</a>, or through the XBOX Game Bar social widget on your PC. (Your friends will also need to accept your friend requests!)</li>



<li>Once successfully added to your XBOX friends list, access the “Play Co-op” menu in Halo: Campaign Evolved to send invites or join up on a friend’s Fireteam. You’ll see a blinking dot indicator beside the menu option whenever friends are online.</li>
