<p>Winter has come to Halo Infinite, and with it, a flurry of excitement with the introduction of a veritable Snowball Fight. </p>



<p>That’s right. It’s time to be merry! ❄️</p>

<p>Forget about the conventional arsenal of weapons; in Snowball Fight, the battlefield is ruled by the infinite supply of plasma grenades. Dip, dodge, and duck other team’s plasmas while launching your own. This is a team-based race to 50 so be sure to watch your teammate’s back too! As a bonus, you’ll be doing all this in Third-Person so you get the additional thrill of watching “snowballs” whiz by you as you enter the fray.</p>

<p>The 2024 HCS season kicked off with a bang at the Arlington Major hosted by <strong><a href="http://twitter.com/optic">OpTic Gaming</a></strong>! From the introduction of the Bandit starts meta to the debut of freshly formed rosters, the event set the stage for an unforgettable year.</p>



<p><strong><a href="http://twitter.com/spacestation">Spacestation</a></strong> emerged victorious, claiming the organization’s first-ever HCS Major title, thanks in part to their newly added French import, <strong><a href="http://twitter.com/lqgend_">Lqgend</a></strong>, who proved instrumental in their historic win.</p>

<p>The competition throughout the event was nothing short of fierce, with every match keeping fans on the edge of their seats. Adding to the electric atmosphere was the unmatched passion of the European crowd, whose hype and intensity fueled the action all weekend long.</p>

<p><strong><a href="http://twitter.com/spacestation">Spacestation</a></strong> reclaimed their place at the top, defeating <strong><a href="http://twitter.com/optic">OpTic Gaming</a></strong> in the Grand Finals to secure another Major title.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, <strong><a href="http://twitter.com/shopifyrebels">Shopify Rebellion</a></strong> cemented their place among the top teams with their second 3rd place finish in a row, and <strong>Team Pure</strong> surprised many with a breakout Top 4 performance!</p>

<p>The Halo community converged in Salt Lake City for the fourth and final HCS Major of the 2024 season, hosted by <strong><a href="http://twitter.com/spacestation">Spacestation</a></strong>.</p>



<p>The hometown heroes, <strong><a href="http://twitter.com/spacestation">Spacestation</a></strong>, defended their turf, becoming back-to-back HCS Major Champions as they defeated <strong><a href="http://twitter.com/optic">OpTic Gaming</a></strong> with a dramatic bracket reset in the Grand Finals! <strong><a href="http://twitter.com/shopifyrebels">Shopify Rebellion</a></strong>‘s remarkable consistency was on display yet again as they secured their third consecutive 3rd place finish.</p>



<p>From the intense tournament action to the wide variety of games and experiences on offer, the HCS SLC Major had something for everyone. Huge thanks again to SSG for hosting an event we won’t soon forget!</p>

<p>Seattle was the stage for the epic conclusion to the 2024 HCS season as the best players from around the globe battled it out for $1,000,000 at the <strong>Halo World Championship</strong>.</p>



<p>Fans packed the venue for 3 thrilling days of intense competition, cosplays, developer panels, and a variety of community activities that brought the Halo universe to life.</p>



<p>The season reached its peak as <strong><a href="http://twitter.com/spacestation">Spacestation</a></strong> capped off a dominant season, securing the organization’s first-ever Halo World Championship title and etching their names in Halo esports history!</p>

<p><em>Halo 3</em>’s Snowbound returns, remade in <em>Halo Infinite</em>’s Forge, along with Snow Ground and Snow Fire.</p>



<p>The free new 20-tier Operation Pass features the Infractor armor set, based on the Jiralhanae Stalkers encountered in <em>Halo 3</em> and <em>Halo 3: ODST</em>.</p>



<p>Upgrade to the Premium Pass to acquire the Offworld Holiday weapon model for the VK78 Commando and Everything Nice weapon coating.</p>

<p>Go head-to-head with other Spartans on small slices of some familiar maps, featuring identical randomized weapon and equipment loadouts, leaving the outcome to pure skill.</p>



<p>Of course, this time of year is all about having fun and enjoying yourselves, so if you want to enter the 1v1 arena with a friend, you can absolutely party up with them and duke it out against each other in matchmaking.</p>

<p>Snowbound is set on a world known as Strilun IV, once inhabited by the Lifeworker rate who built vast rehabilitation complexes—the immense machinery of which can only be glimpsed through the glass floors of the Covenant bases. Sentry turrets surround the Covenant’s structures, controlled by semi-intelligent actuator plugs, maintaining their vigilant watch over horizon.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading has-huge-font-size" style="text-transform:uppercase"><strong>1v1 Me Bro. For Real This Time.</strong></h2>



<p>One of the most common pieces of feedback we heard during the Combat Workshop outing was that you would love to take a friend with you for the ultimate showdown. We heard you loud and clear and the playlist has been updated to allow parties of two to search.</p>



<p>Thanks to Forger Artifice, you can now <em>literally</em> challenge someone to a 1v1 and duke it out on the battlefield for the ultimate bragging rights.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading has-huge-font-size" style="text-transform:uppercase"><strong>Rules of Engagement</strong></h2>



<p>Before you jump in, you should know what you’re getting into and how to win. The victor is the first to win the best of 5 rounds. If you’re asking “How do I win a round?” we have you covered. You can win in one of two ways:</p>



<ul>
<li>Be the first to 5 kills</li>



<li>Capture the zone</li>
</ul>



<p>Each round is a race to 5 with spawns resetting immediately after a kill happens to ensure everyone is on an even playing field. However, if at any point during the round someone captures a hill, they win the round. Yes, this means you can be down 4-1, capture the zone, and still win the round.</p>



<p>Both players will be equipped identically with random loadouts that vary from round to round. You never know what you’ll have in your pockets so be nimble and ready to flex your strategy to adapt to the gear you might find.</p>



<p>Just to keep you on your toes, you may be granted a round modifier (you’ll see the UI banner pop up) that adds a new twist to the game. Keep your reflexes sharp and be ready to adjust to whatever the game throws you, including a damage boost, low gravity, or amped up speed. You never know whatcha gonna get.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading has-huge-font-size" style="text-transform:uppercase"><strong>LAY OF THE LAND</strong></h2>



<p>So, you’ve thrown the gauntlet and are ready to face off in the 1v1, meaning you’ve got the who and the what. Now all you need is where. We have found that standard Arena maps are slightly too large for 1v1, so with the help of community Forger UneeQ, we’ve taken slices of some of your favorite maps and created a unique set of battlefields.</p>



<p>Between rounds, loadouts aren’t the only thing that changes—you’ll be teleported to a new map slice so the scenery will also stay fresh. Here are the maps that have had slices pulled from them:</p>
