The end of the year has come, and so let us go once more unto the breach to recap all the latest goings-on for Halo in December.
HALO INFINITE
OPERATION: SNOWBOUND
Operation: Snowbound is live in Halo Infinite from December 3, 2024, through January 7, 2025.
Halo 3’s Snowbound returns, remade in Halo Infinite’s Forge, along with Snow Ground and Snow Fire.
The free new 20-tier Operation Pass features the Infractor armor set, based on the Jiralhanae Stalkers encountered in Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST.
Upgrade to the Premium Pass to acquire the Offworld Holiday weapon model for the VK78 Commando and Everything Nice weapon coating.
1V1 SHOWDOWN
Go head-to-head with other Spartans on small slices of some familiar maps, featuring identical randomized weapon and equipment loadouts, leaving the outcome to pure skill.
Of course, this time of year is all about having fun and enjoying yourselves, so if you want to enter the 1v1 arena with a friend, you can absolutely party up with them and duke it out against each other in matchmaking.
SNOWBALL FIGHT
Coming later in the Operation, the Snowball Fight mode trades out your weapons for an infinite number of plasma grenades.

THE ARTIST’S CORNER
We’re cracking open the concept art vault to bring you a Halo 3 piece that hasn’t been seen before, specifically for the skybox of the multiplayer map Snowbound.
Snowbound is set on a world known as Strilun IV, once inhabited by the Lifeworker rate who built vast rehabilitation complexes—the immense machinery of which can only be glimpsed through the glass floors of the Covenant bases. Sentry turrets surround the Covenant’s structures, controlled by semi-intelligent actuator plugs, maintaining their vigilant watch over horizon.
