Let’s play Halo! Earlier this year we announced that $50,000 will be up for grabs in open tournaments for fans to compete over and today we’re providing a breakdown of what to expect. Like with fans of Lore, there are also competitive fans who love to watch and compete, and we wanted to make sure they had a place in the venue they could call home as well while providing opportunities for anyone to play Halo and win prizes! 



Here are the featured Open Competitions taking place at Halo Fest:

<li>Halo Infinite: 2v2 – $3,500</li>



<li>Halo 5: Guardians: 2v2 – $2,500</li>

<li>Halo 2: 4v4 – $2,750</li>



<li>Halo: CE: 2v2 – $2,500</li>

These tournaments are all free to enter for all attendees.



One thing we want to touch on specifically was the Halo Infinite 4v4. If you’ve competed at HCS events, typically Open Brackets of that magnitude require the purchase of a team pass to enter the tournament. Considering Halo Fest sold out before this information released, we’ve decided to open up 16 team passes for the HCS community to secure ahead of the event. The Team Passes won’t go on sale until November, but today we’re sharing more information about how they will be sold.



It’s important to us that these team passes are for the competitive community specifically, and not for GA fans who missed out on getting GA tickets and are now looking for ways to just get into Halo Fest with no interest in competing in this 4v4. Each team pass will allow entry for 4 competitors and 1 coach into Halo Fest.

<li>We will go down the points list, team by team until Team Passes are sold out.</li>



<li>A Team Pass gives full access to Halo Fest, including competing in other open competitions in addition to the Halo Infinite 4v4.</li>

The HCS Invitational brings together 8 of the world’s top Halo teams for an exclusive showcase at Halo Fest. Competing on the latest Halo Infinite HCS maps and modes, they’ll battle through group stage and a double-elimination bracket for their share of the $150,000 prize pool!



Teams will be selected through a direct invitation process, with invitations expected to be sent in the late Summer / early Fall. It’s not an exact science, and we won’t be using a points criteria. Our goal is to create a competitive spectacle that delivers epic entertainment for fans both in attendance and watching around the world.

The competition doesn’t stop with the HCS Invitational. Halo Fest will feature $50,000 in Open Competitions, giving attendees the chance to jump into the action across a variety of Halo titles and compete for cash prizes all weekend long.

As with previous HCS events, the Halo Infinite 4v4 Open Tournament will require a Team Pass to compete. Because Halo Fest sold out before Team Pass details were announced, we’re making 16 Team Passes available specifically for the competitive Halo community.

Halo: Campaign Evolved supports shared story checkpoints, collectibles, and customizations across all your preferred platforms. To keep track of your campaign progress, Skulls, and more, Microsoft accounts and Gamertags are required to play Halo: Campaign Evolved.



If you already have an XBOX Gamertag, simply log in with the affiliated Microsoft account when prompted during the first time you play Halo: Campaign Evolved.



Halo newcomers can ensure the smoothest start to their campaign experience by <a href="https://aka.ms/HaloCEAccount">creating a free Microsoft account today</a> online or from a mobile phone. You’ll also get to choose a suitable Gamertag to share with your IRL friends for cross-platform party invites!

Upon loading into Halo: Campaign Evolved for the first time, PlayStation®5 and Steam players will be prompted to link their PlayStation® or Steam ID to their Microsoft account. This step is required to access your existing friends lists so you can campaign together.

To add friends who play on other platforms, you’ll simply need to know their Gamertag (registrants of new Microsoft accounts will choose one during setup). You can then search for and add your friends’ Gamertags to your XBOX friends list in a variety of ways:

Whenever friends are online, you’ll see a blinking indicator beside the “Play Co-op” option in the main menu. Find a friend on the “Platform Friends” or “Cross-Platform Friends” lists to join up on their session or invite them to your Fireteam as session host.

Today on our recent livestream featuring Halo: Campaign Evolved, we played split-screen co-op, assembled a lobby of 4 players for a lively session of Remix, and debuted the final lineup of Skulls used in the infamous Legendary All Skulls On (aka “LASO”) mode.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">LASO Skulls</h3>



After you find the Skulls below in-game, you’ll unlock the ability to play through the game using the LASO setting. Completing the entire game on LASO not only earns you tons of respect on the streets of New Mombasa, but it also earns you the<a href="https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/achievement-list-halo-campaign-evolved" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> “MYTHIC” Achievement</a>.   



Note: If anyone in your Fireteam has Difficulty Modifiers enabled, this Achievement will not unlock.
