This "Legion" was formed to be a hyper lethal ground force. From the battle of Thermopylae to D-Day, these Spartans are trained in Infantry tactics from ancient to modern times, The 901st Legion Spartans can tackle any ground operation with extreme effectiveness.
The Legion was a project designed by Col. Crowson in the Warfare Command Division. He served in the Army as an Infantry solider, and after 15 years, switch to a the MOS of Warfare Logistics. This is his Legacy, and his Legion. Up until his death, he would preform ground operations with the Spartans he hand picked. Although a Legion was Roman term that usually had between 3,000 to 5,000 men, he believe that the name "Legion" carried power. After his death, the project continued with his son, Major Crowson. Major Crowson is a Spartan IV and became the leader of the Legion, and led the Spartan IV's into battle. ALL Spartans are dangerous foes and killing machines, however the proud Spartans of the 901st are the "true example" of the Infantry Ground Fighter. Their emblem is recognizable with the Infantry blue hues, and any solider who sees a 901st Spartan knows that the battle will sway in their favor.
