Welcome back to the newest edition of the Halo Spotlight!

Last time, we detailed how the Spotlight feature is evolving for the future in order to continue serving and highlighting the incredible creativity of the Halo community.

For those who may need a reminder, the Spotlight now covers three features:

  • Halo Spotlight: the spotlight you know and love, slightly shorter by default now to make room for these additional features.
  • Community Corner: a new blog series dedicated to spotlighting and interviewing individual members of the community.
  • Spotlight Evolved: a new blog series dedicated to different aspects of the Halo franchise and its connections with different communities.

We kicked off the Community Corner last month with UberNick, and you can expect to see another one drop next week! We’ll also be deploying the first Spotlight Evolved blog towards the end of the month as well.

For now, let’s dig into a selection of some of the latest and greatest creative endeavors in the Halo community.

CRÈME DE LA CRÈME

We’ll kick things off with this magnificent duo of drawings from “Sleepy,” who has imagined just how good it would be if the Master Chief and the Arbiter were on the cover of Overcooked (fitting, considering we just released Halo: The Official Cookbook!) and It Takes Two.

Working together to cook the most delicious possible meal ever cooked this side of Path Tolgreth, Arby ‘n’ the Chief just might be able to turn the Gravemind from its wicked and vengeful ways...

And secondly, check out some incredible Forerunner landscape paintings from Low_Poly_NPC, who so perfectly captures the awe and majesty of these horrifying wheels.

GREEN 'N' BLUE

Of course, the big green man and his problematic alien lizard friend aren’t the only two dynamic duos that have come to define Halo. The ur-example, of course, is the big green man and the small blue lady (whether that be as Cortana or the Weapon), who have been beautifully captured by Jafet Meza and Hakobe below!

HARUSPINE HANDICRAFTS

Let’s work on a group project together. I want you to build a Halo ring.

Okay, a lot of people have told me “That’s impossible,” but RiteshKMondal was up to the task, and we now have an awesome model of Zeta Halo!

Next, we’re gonna need a hero to fight some alien bad guys on it. Is there anybody who’d be up to the task of making a life-sized Master Chief? There is? Alright, you’re up GalacticArmory!

Hmm, you know what the Chief needs? A weapon. Luckily, it looks like B0xiest has gone to the trouble of 3D printing an entire Needler! (feat. very good doggo)

This has come together really nicely! I think we should round things off with a plasma grenade to celebrate, which has been kindly provided by CxeeFoxx.

(I hope that flame doesn’t cause it to explode!)

VALIANT VIDEO

For over two decades, we have fought the Flood from within the Mjolnir armor of a SPARTAN-II supersoldier, which is as close to “relative comfort” as it gets for such encounters.

Some, however, have sought to embrace the fear of answering the question of what would happen in such an encounter with ODSTs.

“I owe a lot to the Halo franchise. I started learning Adobe products so I could make Halo Machinimas in the mid 2000s. Which in turn led to a career in the motion design/VFX industry. Even before I owned an Xbox I remember being enthralled by the colorful designs of Halo's world. This CG short is my love-letter to Halo.”

Huge shoutout to the work put into this by David Weinstock, Alex Quintin, Seiji Anderson, Kieran Xiang, Marcos Melco, and Cristian Sculbi – this really is an incredible love letter!

A GATHERING OF GREATNESS
