WHAT IS A "SUPER"?

This season, every region in the HCS will have a Regional Final ahead of that split's Major. Last month, we saw Cloud9 claim victory in the NA Regional Finals at HCS Anaheim 2022, and now players in that region are preparing for the Kansas City Major. During this split, the ANZ, MX, and EU regions will have their Regional Finals played online in what we are calling "HCS Supers".

Here's how it works:

Teams will play through a Qualifier and an Open Bracket with hopes to make it to the Championship.

  • ANZ + MX will feature 10 teams in the Super Championship. 8 teams will qualify for Pool Play, while the other 2 will start Bracket Play in Elimination Round 1.
  • EU + NA will feature 20 teams in the Super Championship. 16 teams in Pool Play, 4 teams starting in Elim R1.

The top teams with the most HCS points (or highest placing teams at the last Major) ahead of the Super Qualifier will auto-qualify for Pool Play in their region's Super Championship.

  • ANZ + MX: the top 4 teams will auto-qualify for Pool Play.
  • EU + NA : the top 8 teams will auto-qualify for Pool Play.

The action will begin in each region with the Super Qualifier.

  • ANZ + MX: the top 2 teams will qualify for Pool Play.
  • EU + NA: the top 4 teams will qualify for Pool Play.

Next up is the Super Open (the open bracket portion of the Super Championship)

  • ANZ + MX: the top 2 teams will qualify for Pool Play.
    • The 3rd and 4th placed teams will start Bracket Play in Elim R1.
  • EU + NA: the top 4 teams will qualify for Pool Play.
    • The 5th-8th placed teams will start Bracket Play in Elim R1.

It all culminates at the Super Championship where the best of the best will clash for the lion's share!

  • Pool Play
  • Double Elimination Bracket
