Would you look at that, it’s time again for another issue of Forge Features to spotlight a new batch of community creations that have caught our monitoring eye and made their way to the 343 Recommended tab of the content browser! 



Just earlier this week, Halo Infinite’s matchmaking was enhanced and refreshed with some new community maps that you can find out more about in our Community Collection Update blog. 



And now, if you’re looking to level up your Custom Games nights, let’s explore a remake roulette of campaign and multiplayer spaces throughout the series in Halo Infinite’s Forge.

A stunningly faithful recreation of the courtyard of ONI SWORD Base from Halo: Reach, which was present in the campaign and as a Firefight map. This iteration also includes some Covenant ships glassing the planet in the background.

Red Nomster (<a href="https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/community-corner-red-nomster">who has previously talked about Forge in our Community Corner chat</a>) has showcased what his experience of three-hundred hours of Forge culminated in, giving a lengthy look at his new map “Overdrive.”

Community Cartography 009

Forge Features: April 14, 2023

The Community Collection playlist in Halo Infinite has been updated with new Forge maps from our veritable community of Master Builders!



When we launched the Community Collection playlist back in February, players got to experience maps both familiar and new that had been made by folks in the community using Forge—from a Banished-ified version of Damnation, to a UNSC-themed remix of Midship, and so on.



We stated that this playlist would be evergreen (meaning it would be sticking around in Halo Infinite for the long haul) and would be updated with more community-made content in the future. That day has now come, so let’s get you acquainted with the new arenas you’ll be stepping into.

Solution is a map that showcases just how far Forgers are able to push the density of detail with their maps while also offering a truly great gameplay experience. Just remember that there are enemies to fight, flags to grab, and strongholds and hills to capture as well as sights to see!

Evoking the neon-lit cityscapes we have experienced and loved throughout the series, from the nighttime streets of New Mombasa to the chaotic marketplace of Plaza, Vagabond looks like a place that fits right into the Halo universe.

Similar to Vagabond, Curfew centers the urban aesthetics of Halo 3: ODST in this city precinct that feels like a genuinely lived-in space. The Superintendent is even there to remind you to KEEP IT CLEAN, so be sure to pick up your spent bullet casings and please do not litter the floor with grenades.

In the beginning, the multiplayer map Blood Gulch was created. This has made a lot of people very happy and has been widely regarded as a great move.

In what is quite possibly the coolest thing you will see this week, UNBROKEN ONYX has released a video of their remake of the epic final Warthog run at the end of Halo 3.

His most recent video helps show how you can build an interactable (or hackable) door in Forge. With this tutorial, you can essentially recreate the loot caves from Fragmentation all on your own.

Over the years, the ways and places which players engage with each other and with development studios has continued to evolve. Nowadays, there are more platforms and opportunities than ever to participate in communities of all shapes and sizes.



For years, these Waypoint forums have served as a communal hangout where we’ve shared our passions for Halo, relayed feedback, engaged in lively debates, helped each other with issues, and fostered friendships. Thank you to everyone who has contributed along the way and been a part of the Waypoint community. 



At 343 Industries, our commitment to the Halo community is unchanged – we will still be listening, engaging, gathering your feedback, giving you updates, and helping you with support matters.



Halo Waypoint and our Halo social channels will continue to act as a source of official news for Halo. Player feedback and overall conversations with the development team and community will live on. And for feedback in particular, we’ll continue to utilize the Halo Insider Program for periodic surveys along with the ongoing outreach our partners in Xbox User Research conduct. And of course, we continue to monitor social media channels and some other forums, even if we can’t always respond.
